A/N: Tw- mentions of self harm go to the next '...' to skip this part of the story

Both Yang and Aj strolled around the campus of the future generation of huntsmen and women.

The silence was... strong... if you can say that.

Yang: "So... how did you get cut from... that wristy part?"

Yang quipped with a smile, but Aj groaned.

Aj: Fucking hate puns... so unoriginal.

Yang: "Sorry for lighting up the mood..."

She chuckled as she scratched the back of her head.

Aj looked at her with a look of annoyance.

Aj: "I can't decide if you're a dork or not."

Yang: "Hey! It runs in the family."

Aj just stayed silent.

???: "Oof got you there little shit. Whatcha gonna say? Got your quips from a man in red and blue spandex."

Aj grumbled holding his head then bashing it lightly into it.

Aj: Shut up. Shut up!

Suddenly stopping as Yang caught his hand. Her gaze was soft but the intent was stern enough for a scolding.

Suddenly she pulled down the sleeve of Aj's jacket... then his long sleeved shirt... then the long sleeve under shirt revealing red marks all across his arms.

A shivered ran down Aj's spine looking at the dark purple scars.

Yang: "What... happened."

Aj stayed silent looking at the self damage on his arm just for the voice in his head to quiet down... or to keep control of his own mind not driving away his sanity.

Aj: "Personal struggles."

Aj replied snatching his hand away from her grip as he pulled down his sleeves.

Aj: "Therapy isn't cheap so... I had to take an alternative..."

He rubbed his arm... he could remember the first time he had to make the voice quiet.

Aj remembered how his skin split open as the sides of the cleave leaked out slowly and not gushing a green substance, he could remember seeing the hard white structure behind the mass of green fat.

Aj remembered adrenaline, and how it was more addicting than just fighting bums robbing liquor stores.

The thought of that edged him, made his hand excited, it makes him claw down his skin and tear it off just to feel that euphoria.

What he didn't realize was the warm, soft grip from his friend on his shoulder.

Yang: "Y-you know... there's other ways... than hurting yourself."

Aj could see the concern on her face, Aj sighed pushing away his desire for the feeling.

Aj: "Don't worry Goldie. I don't do that anymore."

Aj sighed rubbing his neck.

Sure Yang was doubtful but had no choice but to believe him.

Suddenly a loud thud was heard from afar catching the attention of the two.

Yang: "What was that?"

Aj: "I don't know."

Wasting no time Aj and yang began to run at the commotion going on to the entrance of the campus.
