The five of you walked down the hallway, with Charlie leading the way. She explained the hotel's day-to-day operations and her hopes to have a redeemed soul very soon. Everyone tried to ignore the ever-growing tension in the hallway. Even though Alastor was in the back of the group, everyone could feel the stare he was sending to the king of hell.

"The hotel even has two residents that are making great progress!" she cheered. She fell back to stand with Vaggie as her eyes moved to you. "But, I've done enough talking. (Y/n) mind taking over?"

You take Charlie's place at the front, leading down the ever-winding halls. You started to discuss Angel and Pentious and their paths to redemption while Lucifer was giving his all trying to seem like he supported this project.

Charlie's eyes darted from you to him, trying her hardest to squeal. She could tell her Dad was tense. It was evident that he didn't really like the hotel, but he refused to crush her dreams. Any mention of souls going to Heaven would cause him to grip his cane tighter until his wedding ring left an indent on the apple. But when he was talking with you, his shoulder relaxed some, and his smile softened.

Vaggie noticed Charlie's barely concealed excitement as her eyes followed hers. She wasn't sure why she was so happy watching her Dad and you talking. Maybe you had a better chance of convincing him to support? She wasn't sure, but hey, Charlie was happy, and that's all she could ask for.

Alastor stalked behind the group, watching the weird scene before him. His eyes were stuck on Lucifer and the smile that graced your lips as you explained how Pentious joined the hotel. It was taking everything in him to stop his shadow from tripping Lucifer to stop the display (but that would probably only bring the two of you closer). Watching you and him talk made him want to slash his throat open as you tried hopelessly to stop. A desperate cry would fall out of your lips as he grabbed at his arm, trying to stop him, only encouraging him to slip more blood.

But he'll have to return to that thought later as he heard a gruff whisper behind him.

As quietly as possible, he slipped away from the group, hoping that they wouldn't even realize that he was gone. Which they didn't, as you expressed hope in the progress you've made on getting the residents to reform. However, when they reached the end of the hall leading to the balcony, they turned to ask Alastor a question about Nifty and Husk to find him gone (to the glee of Lucifer).

You led Lucifer outside while Charlie stepped between Vaggie and the door. Charlie forced a smile while rubbing her upper arm with her hand: " Hey, could you wait here for Alastor to make sure he doesn't interrupt my conversation with my Dad? I appreciate his help, but I don't want my Dad flipping out."

Vaggie nodded and turned to face the hallway, waiting for the Radio demon to appear with her spear in hand. Charlie pressed a quick kiss to her girlfriend's head, causing Vaggie's face turned as red as her bow.

With the click of the door closing, Charlie stiffly stood, eyes constantly shifting to you, who was leaning against the rail behind her. "So... What do you think?"

"Well, uh, uh, " he looked around, unsure whether to look at the falling chipping paint or the airship park not so elegantly behind the hotel. "You really should get new railings. One push and." He draped himself over the balcony, flamboyantly flailing his limbs around. "Uh oh! Bye-bye!"

He let out an uncomfortable laugh, and Charlie's eyelid twitched. "No. What do you think about my idea?"

His chest rose while he looked at the red sky; pain lingers in his eyes. "Look, I love that you want to see the best in others. But you can't expect much from sinners." He angled himself towards you, "Heaven isn't as accepting as you might hope." Charlie's eyes traced her Dad's line of sight to you. Her shoulders slumped, wanting to deny the facts right before her. "They have rules, lots of them. And they aren't kind to those who don't follow them."
