Nothing could heard in the heavenly courtroom as you appeared on the bubble. No one dared to speak or move as the video played of you stepping between Valentino and Angel.

Charlie's eyes darted over to Adam, who, for once, was speechless with his jaw hanging slack. Lute was no better, standing stiffer than a statue with a hand over her mouth. All the other angels stared, not understanding the strong reaction from the first man. But Charlie's heart sank, her eyes stuck on Emily.

She stood motionless like she was stuck in time. Her muscles were stiff, her mouth open ever so slightly. Her wings hung low, some of the feathers even touching the floor. Her eyes were huge, showing the transition from confusion to realization, denial, grief, and finally rage.

With one swift move of Sera's hand, the bubble popped on the last image, showing you leading Angel away back to the others. "I think we've seen enough for today. Clearly, redemption isn't possible-."

"You said they wanted to quit," Emily said, completely cutting Sera off, not even registering what the older angel said. "You said they wanted to be alone." Whispered filled the jury stand, not sure of whether they should leave. "You said that they didn't want to see me anymore."

Vaggie joined the chore of confused voices as she pulled on Charlie's sleeve. "What's going on"

Emily's face scrunched up, a tear running down her face. She flew up, eyes forming on her chest and Halo. She dashed to the floor, loudly booming through the room, "Why are they down there? What did they do to deserve to fall? Why didn't you tell me?"

Gasp erupted from the juries, the sea of voices filled with questions. Sera flew down to Emily, not even bothering to look around at the other angel as she ordered them to "leave at once." Everyone skittered off with another word. "Emily, I'm so sorry. I wanted to tell you, but-." Sera reached her hand out, trying to place it on Emily's face.

But Emily swatted her hand away, hot tears pouring down her face. "But what? (Y/n) is the kindest soul I have ever met! How could they fall?"

"Because they found out about the Extermination!" Charlie shouted the anger in Emily's eyes mirrored in Charlie's.

"Extermination? What is she talking about?" Emily screamed hands clucked to her chest.

Charlie ran out from behind the podium, right next to Emily, grabbing her hands. Maybe she is being too rash. A part of her was screaming that Emily would take you away. But right now, she needed to get through to her. Not just for your safety but for everyone at the hotels. "Sera letting Adam kill human souls down in hell."

Sera could hear her heart beating in her ears, deafening loud. "Emily, don't listen-."

"They overheard Adam, Sera, and Lute talking about the Extermination. Sera couldn't let the secret get out, so she cast them down to hell."

Sera shoved Charlie away, sending her tumbling to the floor. Vaggie rushed over, her fist balled ready to strike. Even in Sera frantic state, her voice was calm trying to fool Emily (and partly herself). "Emily, she's lying. I didn't tell you about them falling because they were using you to gain power. They never cared about you-."

"Don't you know lying is a sin?" Charlie growled, her demon horns popping out of her head. Her voice softened as she moved her focus to Emily. "Em, they miss you every day. You're always on their mind. They still wear the necklace you gave them!"

Emily turned away, her hands reaching up to grip her hair. Thousands of thoughts swirled through Emily's brain, screaming for her full attention. She felt numb, sick, and like she was going to throw up. Sera would never lie to her, but there was no way Charlie could have gotten all that information. And if she is telling the truth, poor you.
