Bridget glanced over at me as the guards behind us were holding strong in the thousands. "We sure got something behind us."
I glanced over at her, "Are you still scared?"
"Of course I am!"
I smiled back at her, "Good."
Bridget glared back at me when one of the scouts shouted out.
I stopped the horse as the soldiers behind us stopped moving.
Over the bridge of the hill I saw the smoke and I heard the cries.
Bridget looked back at me, "I hate seeing dead people."
I nodded my head as I took off with several of the guards on horseback.
I pulled back on the reins when I saw the river infront of me but I saw the fight just across the water.
The guards looked back at me.
I shook my head when an arrow ripped past me.
I dropped my shoulder as I looked in the direction of the arrow.
The guards called after me to retreat as I jumped down from the horse.
I went to the edge of the river and watched as the next arrow ripped out of one of the trees.
I pointed at the tree as two of the guards pulled back on their bows and released their arrows.
I glared back at the guard, "We are not going to end this by running away when someone threatens us and if you feel that way, then leave."
The guard glared at me as I got back on my horse and went back to Bridget.
Bridget looked up from the ground, "What did you see?"
"People are fighting across the river."
Bridget pointed at the blood on my shoulder.
"I'm fine."
Bridget shook her head back at me, "What are we even doing?"
I glanced back at her, "We are gonna protect the castle."
"The castle is 3 days back that way." Bridget pointed over her shoulder keeping her eyes on me.
I smiled back at her, "You wanna go back?"
"NO, I think you wanna get back to them but we aren't finding them and that is killing you."
I nodded my head back at her, "I really do need to find them."
Bridget glanced up at the path ahead of us, "Let's keep moving."
I followed after her as we kept moving away from the castle.
Later that night, Bridget walked over to me as the soldiers kept guard on the area.
I glanced up at her as she put some food infront of me.
"I kept hearing whispers about them heading back." Bridget said back to me.
I smiled at her, "I don't need them."
Bridget looked down at the map, "You think this is gonna help us?"
