Brock here. When I was 11 years old, I started to wet the bed. Every night I would be reminded to use the bathroom, but it was to no avail. After a month of bedwetting, my mother came into my room holding a package. She showed me that she bought me some of target's pullups for me to wear. I opened them up and saw the designs on them, I couldn't help feeling ashamed. I went to the bathroom, took off my white briefs (that had some pee stains) and put on the pullup.
That night, I slept like a baby. I got a full night's sleep and my bed was dry when I awoke. The pullup was pretty full, though. Once I saw that my bashfullness was gone. I was actually pretty excited to wear one again the next night.
After 20 days of wearing pullups, I notified my mother that I needed some more. She was more than happy to oblige. The next day she came back with a box containing 44. She said that it looks that I'm going to need them long term, so she might as well stock up.
All was going well, the pullups were holding my pee and my pee stained briefs were replaced. I stopped with sleepovers and kept the box of pullups hidden when my friends came by. After 40 days, I was down to my last few pullups and reminded my mother that I needed more. Once again she came home with a box of them. And after combining the boxes, she gave me the job of bringing the empty box to our garbage disposal.
Living in a big city, we took all our garbage and boxes and left them in the front of the house, next to the sidewalk until it was trash day. I took the box there, when I realized the big issue. The box was filled with embarrassing statements. "Nighttime underwear", "heavily absorbent", "100% leakproof" "discreet option for bedwetting" was just a few. I just hoped no one would notice.
It was about 2 hours later, when my neighbor, Ricky, came by. "Hey man, I didn't realize that you wet the bed". I tried to deny it but he had seen the empty box of pullups. "It's ok, I also wet the bed", he said. I so relieved as he's only 9 but it did make me realize that it's more common than I would think.
