"You... You don't have a quirk anymore?"

This scene felt all too familiar to Izuku, although it brought him a different feeling than before.

He wasn't sure if telling Katsuki this would've been easier or harder than when the Alpha had found out about him having a quirk from All Might. Back then, Katsuki's expression wasn't readable, and as they talked, it was made well aware that Katsuki was more surprised than upset, a typical response given that a quirk being given to another was unheard of.

But this time, Izuku was able to sense how Katsuki was feeling, and his expression helped to solidify his suspicion. He seemed heartbroken.

Izuku hoped he'd still have some time before he inevitably had to tell Katsuki. He especially didn't want to do it in the hospital just hours after they both went through a traumatic experience, especially now knowing that the damage done to Katsuki's chest has given him heart issues and too much stress wouldn't be good for him.

But when the doctor gave a report on Izuku's vitals and the measurements of his quirk seemed very off, it didn't feel right to lie to Katsuki about why that could be when he knew the reasoning for it very well.

Izuku smiled, getting up from his hospital bed in order to be closer to Katsuki, bringing his scarred hands up to his cheeks, "It's okay, Kacchan. I'm okay with the decision I made. It was the only way I could defeat All For One. Once his body was weak enough, transferring One For All caused his body to decay. Giving up my power was most likely the only way he was going to be taken down."

"You don't know that for a fact though..." Katsuki mumbled, softly placing one of his hands on top of Izuku's, "If I didn't get knocked out, I could've been more useful... Maybe you wouldn't of had to... Give up your quirk... Your dream... Everything you worked so hard on..." Katsuki started to tear up in between his words.

Izuku quickly moved his hands away from Katsuki's face and instead brought him into an embrace, his head resting against Katsuki's chest, hearing his heart beating lowly, which brought him much-needed comfort.

"It's okay. It's not your fault. If you didn't push me out of the way and take the hit for me, who knows how the fight would've turned out? Maybe neither of us would be here."

"Is that supposed to make me feel better? To imagine a reality where we both died?"

"Of course not. This is me thanking you. You're my hero, Kacchan. I can't imagine a world without you in it, and if it means I have to give up my powers to get that, I'd choose that option every time. I may not be able to have my dream of being a hero anymore, but I have a new dream now."

"And what's that?"

Izuku softly laughed, bringing his head up to look Katsuki in his eyes, "It's you! You're my dream! I want to spend the rest of my life with you!"

Katsuki blushed, "You're so cheesy, Izuku..."

"I know, but you like that about me."

"Yeah, yeah... This still doesn't feel right though..."

"What do you mean?"

"I just... It's my job as your Alpha to make you happy and... I just wish there was something I could do to still help you become a hero. It's not fair that just because you don't have a quirk, you can't be one. You're the most heroic person I've ever met. Especially after what you did today, you deserve some recognition."

"It's not about that for me though. I never wanted to be a hero for fame or glory. I just wanted to help people. By defeating a villain that's been terrorizing the world longer than anyone's been alive, I'd say I've done my part. I don't need anything more."
