RUNNING OUT OF REASONS

»»——⍟——««

Weeks had begun to pile up in the time since the tournament, Y/n's life falling into a monotony of spending all of her time inside the walls of Capsule Corporation. It wasn't so bad, nothing like it was in universe ten, spending all of her time looking at the same exact view everyday. Not that she would tell Zamasu any of those thoughts. He seemed to quite enjoy it there, and had been overjoyed when Y/n finally made the trip back, giving him and Gowasu a visit. It was difficult to pry herself away from him when she had to return home once more, and she didn't put up much of a fight. She loved Goku, and Bulma was a wonderful person, but she thought she was starting to go insane, looking at the same walls everyday.

Not that Y/n expected much more though. It was difficult to live a fulfilling life when the majority of your memories are gone and you have nowhere to go. And even after going to visit Zamasu, and even popping by to see Shin, Y/n still could hardly bring herself to get out of bed. She squeezed the blanket tightly in her fists, relaxing in her coffin of blankets.

She could feel Goku eyeing her, burning holes into her back. Even their wedding plans had come to a halt for the time being, as neither really knew how to continue forward with it. Not only that, but with her mind trapped in a loop of wanting to know more about her past, Y/n has begun to wonder if it was even right to marry Goku when she's missing memories of him. Her words to Bulma about being in love with him coming naturally to her echoed in her mind, beginning to think that it was wrong to marry Goku when Y/n couldn't remember why they loved each other in the first place. She knew she loved him, but didn't quite know why, or what had happened in their past together.

"Don't start trying to do this again," Goku huffed, reaching to pull the blankets from her grip. His hands paused as a deep sigh came from within her, before she grew silent once more. He had no idea what could be going through the maze that was her mind, but it was obviously upsetting to her. He sat down next to her, running a hand up and down her back. "Come on, Y/n, why don't you talk to me? If you don't talk to me, I'm just going to read your mind, and you don't like when I do that."

Goku was surprisingly respectful of people's privacy despite having no knowledge of the very concept of privacy itself. The thought brought a small smile to her face, though it wasn't enough to reach her eyes. She turned over just enough to meet his eyes, his sweet and loving gaze making her heart flutter.

"I've just been kind of tired lately. There's not much to look forward to, no reason to get up in the mornings," Y/n spoke honestly. "Our wedding plans have come to a stop, and there's nothing for me to do anymore. I don't really know what I'm supposed to do with myself."

"Aww so you're just bored?" Goku asked, grinning. Y/n huffed, furrowing her brows in annoyance.

"You could put it that way, but it's mean." Y/n turned away from his all too bright eyes, curling further into the blankets and into her own depression. She felt the weight of Goku's body leave her side, his hand disappearing from her back, making her think that perhaps he was backing off. She should have known better though, Goku was a stubborn creature.

Y/n squealed as she was suddenly scooped from the bed and into Goku's arms, the man giggling as she held onto him, squeezing tight. Y/n cried out as she was tossed up and down like a small child, as if she weighed nothing in his arms.

"Don't worry, I'll make you have so much fun you'll never be bored again!" Goku exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear. Y/n huffed, clinging onto him so he wouldn't toss her once more, though she couldn't help the smile that curled on her lips as well.
