"What're you doing?" I asked Billie when I noticed her in deep thought on the couch.
"Thinking of my speech for your wedding." She answered with a small smile, writing a few notes down.
"What do you have so far?" I asked and attempted to sit beside her but Billie lifted her leg up and placed it on the couch, covering up all the seats.
"It's a surprise. I want to make you cry- no, I want you to sob violently." Billie nodded proudly before glancing back down at her notepad. "It's gonna be long, that okay?"
"Always, Bil." I smiled and patted her shoulder before walking into the kitchen. "I still need to figure out what to say to Jenna as my vow."
"I can help with that!" Billie stood up and followed me, sitting on the counter with her legs swinging slightly beneath her. "What's something you've always wanted to tell her?"
"Uh, how much I appreciate what she does for me." I pursed my lips together.
"Let's start with that then. Or what about a story between you guys?"
I hummed in thought. "There's a couple, or a lot. Like the day we brought Juno home from the hospital she cooked dinner every night for the next two or three months, she cleaned everything, made sure I was okay, and even helped put Juno to sleep."
Billie smiled. "What else has she done? Maybe during or after the pregnancy?"
"There was one time where she gave me a massage for my whole body. I was so worn out after giving birth when we got home. Jenna had Juno in her crib when it was in our bedroom. And she uh like came over to me and asked how I was feeling. I said my whole body hurts." I cleared my throat and sat beside Billie. "And she disappeared from the room to wash her hands and she had a bottle of lotion in her hands. I asked what she was doing but all she said was don't worry, just relax. I trust her so I did relax and I was lying on my back. Jenna massaged me from head to toe, it was so amazing. I felt so much lighter."
