Edward appeared in the Moonstone pack and was surprised to not see anybody there. He heard a growl and glanced around to see his son ruining the houses. No doubt he was disappointed to see the pack empty. Edward commended Damien in his mind for his fast thinking, he doubts if even he could have stopped Asher from butchering everyone in the pack.

He sighed and walked to a tree, resting on it while he waited for his son to finish his tantrums. Hell, Asher has never thrown a tantrum in his life before and Edward was surprised he was doing that now that he was already an adult and all because of a woman. He searched around and sighting a chair, he raised his hand and pulled the chair to himself with his telekinesis. He sat down, his eyes closed while he used the crumbling sound around him to pinpoint where his son was exactly.

After some time, he opened his eyes, surprised to find that he had fallen asleep. The loud thrashing and crumbling sound had stopped and he searched around but he couldn’t see his son sulking anywhere. His senses heightened instantly, “Asher,” he called but no sound came and neither did he sense him anywhere. He felt a slight fear in his heart before teleporting, knowing instantly where he had gone. Perhaps, ruining the pack didn’t satiate Asher like he had hoped.

News traveled fast in the woods and soon, all the pack alphas with their future alphas had gathered in the High Alpha pack, all waiting for his return with the outcast rogues. Gideon watched the faces of the people that had gathered to see them and he couldn’t explain the feeling he felt when he couldn’t see the face he had longed to see. There weren’t much of them. Although the Eastwood has five packs, they had no more than two hundred wolves in each pack with only the Moonstone pack the one with two hundred and fifty wolves, making them a total of one thousand and fifty wolves. Their ancestors really tried in bringing up their numbers over the last five hundred years. However, with Asher’s recent killing had dwindled their numbers even if a little.

Although the Goddess was kind enough to let them find their mates amongst themselves, they still had some mate-less wolves among them and Gideon would have been one of them if he hadn’t found Anita last night. And now thinking of it, he was sure that in some packs would be the mates of the mate-less wolves in his packs and now they could only wait for the next blood moon night to find out —that is, if they are pardoned to keep their lives with the sins of their forefathers—.

Damien had already sent words to his pack before they arrived and so, preparations has been made and now, everyone was waiting for them. As the rogues were shown to the training ground where Damien would address them and discuss with his elders and obviously Asher, what their fates would be before they would be dispatched according to what would be decided, an elder walked up to Damien with new sets of clothes in hand. Panting, Damien took them from him before excusing himself to the changing room in the training ground. They had ran through the woods, he had sent the command to Sean to pick up the pace for he feared Asher showing up and attacking when he wasn’t close enough to stop him or command him to. And also, with the human realm now setting in for the night, it was easier for them to run through their streets without being spotted. Now safely in the pack, he was happy that they had escaped Asher and his wrath for now because he could feel it deep in his bones that they would not find the human girl and Asher would come back for the rogues.

When he emerged after changing, he discovered that his warriors had all handed the rogues clothes to change into and while they were at it, he decided to speak with his alphas and elders. Seeing his intent, all the pack alphas that had come followed him to his council hall where there were always seats waiting for them. Sean and Steven had changed too and so followed them.

Getting to the hall, Damien assumed his chair and with that, every other person in the room sat down. “I am sure you have all been briefed about the identity of the new wolves.”

Everyone nodded in unison before an elder of Damien’s pack stood up. “Alpha, what is to be their fate now especially since I sensed alpha powers in some of them.”

“They are divided in five packs so they have five alphas and the alphas have sons, making them a total of ten alphas at the moment. When coming here, I have learnt that three of the future alphas has pregnant mates. So, while the ones still in the womb are not to be worried about until they are born, we have to figure out what to do with the ones already here. We all know their history and how they are naturally supposed to be rogues. However, they have been living with alpha powers for the past five hundred years, so this meeting is to decide what would become of them. Although we can’t really decide now without future High alpha.”

“Then where is he? Shouldn’t he be here? I mean, he told us that he would find them but you ended up being the one that did and yet, he is not here to acknowledge you.” The first elder said.

“You are mistaken, Elder Moses, Prince Asher was the one who found them. I only brought them back,” Damien announced and he heard the gasps of everyone.

“High alpha,” another elder stood up, “since it’s so, then why is he not here? Shouldn’t he have brought them back along with you?”

“Exactly,” some people were saying while others nodded.

“He should have escorted them here alongside you, High Alpha,” an alpha said and the rest of the wolves in the room nodded in support.

“High Alpha,” a pack alpha stood up, “we didn’t want to say this before but we have to address it. We have been noticing that Future High Alpha is neglecting his duties. By now, you should have retired, and yet, not only is he making you do his work for him, but he doesn’t even bother to help you. How could he have located the rogues and allowed you to escort them alone? If you ask me, I think he is using his identity as the Prince of the demons to disrespect you.”

“Exactly,” some of the alphas agreed with him while some kept quiet. Steven and Sean glanced at each other. They had known this was coming and it was what they had come to report to Damien right before Edward appeared and demanded that they follow him.

“Yes, High Alpha,” another alpha stood up to speak. “Yes, he is the fight hybrid we have ever had and not just of two identities but three. While it is good that he is who he is, he should also remember that he is the future king of the wolves. Maybe our throne is not as enticing as that of the demons but that doesn’t mean he should be neglecting us. Herding the Night Howlers clan is his responsibility and not only is he neglecting it, he is busy lazing around in the human realm and dating their women. Everyone saw the girl he brought to his mother’s party. What a disrespect.”

“High Alpha, now he has found his mates and it turns out that he is the first wolf to have two mates, do you think he can be controlled or will he throw aside all that the Night Howlers stand for?”

With that, voices started overlapping, everyone disclosing their displeasure with Asher. Sean and Steven said nothing because they knew the real reason they are all complaining. They are not complaining because they really cared about the future of the wolves but because they didn’t like the idea that Asher will eventually have all the lands. Not only is he the king of wolves but at some point in time, Edward would surrender the demon throne to him and the Nightwalkers already sees him as their prince because he is Edward’s son. All the alphas complaining here were doing so out of jealousy and they are hoping they can get Damien on their side and for him to decide not to make Asher the wolf king and instead choose someone else.

They had once asked Damien if that was possible and Damien had said that although it has never been practiced, it doesn’t mean it was impossible.

While everyone was busy finding faults about Asher to complain, the big doors were thrown open and Aliyah stepped in. “How nice, it’s amazing to see that instead of you lot to ponder about what to do with the new wolves, you have ganged up against my son.”
