“It’s been thirteen days, Irene, when is he going to wake up?” Edward demanded. He could feel it deep in his bones that something was about to happen and he feared that if he doesn’t wake his son up, then it might be the end of the world. Call it his instinct but he believes it.

“I don’t know Edward. I check him every day but there is no sign yet. He is too comfortable with the dream and the only way to sort this is to let him naturally wake up.”

“It’s taking time!”

“I told you it will. Please Edward, there is really nothing else we can do. We will just have to wait…” a sound like an explosion roared and the earth shook.

“What was that?” Edward asked, turning sharply to leave Irene’s spell room. Stepping out to the hallway, he saw a warrior rushing to him. “What happened?” he spat at the man.

“Your Majesty, the sound came from outside. There is a big black halo in the sky and it surrounds the palace,” the man rushed to explain.

“What?” Edward was shocked and quickly teleported outside. He saw his guards looking around in shock as the general roared orders at them, getting them ready for a fight. Edward stared at the gigantic halo circling his palace and he knew instantly that his fear has come to pass. Catherine was attacking and she didn’t give a warning.

Irene and Aliyah rushed outside at that moment and Edward cursed. “Go inside, Aliyah. No matter what, do not step out.” He said as he approached Aliyah.

“What is going on?” Aliyah asked.

“I don’t know and until I do, do not leave the palace.” Turning to a guard, Edward spat at him, “take the queen to her chambers and do not let her out of your sight.”

“Yes, your majesty.”

“Edward no, Edward please. I want to know what is going on, I can’t let you be here alone,” Aliyah cried.

Edward cupped her cheeks, “Aliyah, you carry our child, nothing must happen to you. Do you hear me? Keeping you safe is my priority and I will die doing that if I have to.”

“But…” she wanted to protest but he shut her up with a kiss and then gently pushed her to the guard.

“Go,” he said and the guard started leading her away. A strong wind started blowing and it soon turned into a tornado, blowing up particles and Edward had to strain to see Aliyah being led into the palace by the guard. As soon as they were inside, another explosion sounded, breaking a quarter of the palace and Edward was in shock. Servants started running outside as screams filled everywhere. Just as Edward wanted to rush into the palace to find Aliyah, the tornado carried part of the palace roof away and looking up, he saw a figure floating in the sky. “Asher,” his heartbeat dropped as he saw the sight of his son.

Asher was covered in black veins from head to toe. His eyes were pitch black and he clearly looked like he wasn’t in control of himself.

“Asher!” Edward called and instantly flew up in the air to him. “Son,” he stopped in front of him. “Asher, you…” he was suddenly punched right in the face by Asher, the force of the punch slammed him heavily on the ground in seconds and a big hole appeared where he landed. The guards around jumped into the hole to help him and raising his head, Edward saw Asher flying away from the palace.

Blood tickled from Edward’s nose and he would have followed Asher if not that he heard Aliyah crying for him. He quickly teleported to her and she threw herself in his arms and he found himself hugging her close to comfort her and himself.

“Asher…” Aliyah sobbed, “Asher...”

“It’s okay. I have brought him back to you a countless time, I will bring him back. Trust me,” he said.
