The cell was cold and humid. Icicles hang down from the iron bars before the small window, the moonlight shining through being the only source of light for her.
Elena kept her head low. Her appearance was unkempt, being barely allowed to shower or brush her hair. Every day she wished she could go back to a simpler time of her life.
Life alongside her domineering uncle hadn't always been pleasant, but he spoke true to her six months ago that he was the only one that cared for her. Nobody else would reach out to help her, or perhaps they couldn't, but her uncle had fought to free her by ordering the acolytes to take down the carriage escorting her.
Sure, she had almost killed her in the process, but who knows what kind of horrors would await her had she not been saved.
While pondering, Elena ignored her surroundings deliberately. She knows her uncle was being extradited today to the British Ministry of Magic, to stand trial for his crimes in Europe. It was quite an organisatory hazard to find a way to transport the most dangerous wizard alive from one place to another.
She hadn't noticed yet how two persons, one a woman and the other a man, stood outside her cell and observed her in silence while sharing meaningful glances. Elena only realized they were there when she heard the woman softly whisper the Unlocking Charm Alohomora. The lock of her cell clicks open and the man caught the falling lock before it could clatter onto the ground.
The two sneakily enter her cell, towering over the seated woman with pleased smirks on their faces.
"Wh-Who are you," Elena asks, her throat raspy from not being provided enough water to drink.
"We've come to help you leave, Miss Grindelwald," the woman says with a smile plastered on her bright red lips. The man that accompanied her steps forward and uses his wand to unlock the handcuffs around her wrists.
