Chapter 42

Y/N nodded quickly but, she was distracted. A part of her mind still processing the situation that transpired a couple of minutes ago. She snapped out of her daze again, when Yuji gestured her to step near the door. He was positioned in a way that he is behind the door when it opens.

She followed his instructions and stepped beside him.

"Anytime, Y/N. Anytime." he whispered to her, from his voice it was evident how excited he was.

On the other hand, Y/N struggled to keep her focus on the present time.

"Focus,"

She chanted it like a mantra, staring at the floor. Desperately trying her best to not think and feel about the things that the curse wanted her to.

"Y/N, don't worry and just scare them okayy?" Yuji whispered softly and looked at the door, waiting for it to open.

They could hear their muffled voices, speaking about what type of curse would be in the room. After a few moments the door flew open and a black dog barged in, its stance active and determined. The dog instantly faced the hourglass and barked.

They both recognized the dog instantly, Megumi's shikigami.

Megumi and Nobara entered, staring at the hourglass in confusion.

"What the hell? An hourglass?" Nobara  remarked, her confusion evident.

"Strange," Megumi replied.

Y/N forced herself to completely forget what had happened and focused on them, though difficult, she managed to succeed. Yuji took the chance and signalled Y/N. Without another thought, they pushed the door and..

"BOO!"

They both exclaimed at the same time. Despite the thoughts and the feelings that ate her up, she managed to not ruin the plan. The two didn't even flinch, instead they just turned around to faced them and stood there with ಠ~ಠ face.

"They don't look happy at all!" both thought.

"No way," both of them thought and stared at them in disbelief.

A confident Gojo entered into the room and began.

"So Yuji and Y/N who were presumed dead, aren't dead!" he exclaimed and pointed at the two proudly.

Nobara and Megumi just stared at the two like they were some sort of creature.

"Come on! Aren't you happy to see us?!" Yuji questioned in a whiny tone.

"You didn't miss us at all?" Y/N added with a pouty voice.

"Of course they did!" Gojo exclaimed.

They all looked at each other for literally 4 seconds until suddenly Nobara stepped forward and spoke.

"You two, there's something y'all should say, right?" she questioned.

"What?" the two looked at her, dumbfounded.

Suddenly, small drops of tears welled in her eyes. She struggled to hold back her tears. While Megumi looked at her with a slight bit of concern.

"We're sorry for not telling you that we're alive," they apologized simultaneously with a bit of concern etched into their faces.

Y/N couldn't help but take a step forward and wrap her arms around her, giving her a warm hug.

"We missed you, Kugisaki, Fushiguro," Y/N admitted softly.

Nobara was taken by surprise at first but she relaxed into the hug. While the others observed the them.

"You idiots..!" she uttered and slightly pouted.
