Chapter 43

After her afternoon nap, which wasn't close to a nap, she made her way towards her Sensei who was in the clinic room with Shoko. Seemed like he was speaking to her about something. She quickly approached him not wanting to take too much of his time.

Gojo stopped conversing and turned his attention to his student.

"Hm?" he tilted his head.

"So only me and Yuji?" she went straight to the point, her voice filled with uncertainty.

"Mhm, been a while since you two had went on a mission together, right?" Gojo remarked.

"Ah, yes.." Y/N nodded, but internally she was troubled.

"Why? Is there a problem?" Gojo questioned, his eyes fixated on the girl.

"Oh— No, of course not," she replied and awkwardly chuckled.

Gojo took a moment and observed her before replying.

"If you want, I could replace— Oh wait, nevermind, they already left for their mission," he unveiled as he continued to study her.

Her eyes sparked for a moment before her hopes shattered into a hundreds of pieces.

"No, it's fine," she assured herself more than she did to her Sensei.

"I didn't know they went on another mission," she added, clarifying her thoughts.

"I see. The place they had to go is quite faraway from here, so the two would be having their dinner together there," Gojo mentioned.

"Oh.." she voiced.

"So, you two also eat dinner at a place nearby after you are done exorcising the curse. I already told Yuji about this," he said as he crossed his arms.

She nodded in response.

"Take care and good luck!" he exclaimed happily.

"Yes, Sensei, you too," she smiled.

"I don't need it, you know~" he said teasingly, his grin wide.

"Idiot," she rolled her eyes, turning, she left the room.

Gojo couldn't help but let out a small chuckle before resuming his conversation with Shoko. As she walked out the door, she was greeted by Yuji's sweet little face.

"Y/N! Let's go, I've been waiting for you!" he enthused and put his hand up.

"Yes, yes, Yuji. Let's go," she nodded and smiled to put herself at ease.

"After we are done, we'll go to a restaurant nearby!! Gojo Sensei told us to!" he said, his hype evident.

Y/N nodded again and gave Yuji a soft smile. She absolutely adored how excited and sweet he was.

They both made their way out of the school and slipped into the car that was waiting them. As always, it was Ijichi who was driving. Yuji kept chatting, rambling about not so important things. While Y/N couldn't help but think about the possibilities of what could happen.

On the way, Ijichi gave them information about the mission. It was at a hotel, 22 floors, where young female guests mysteriously disappeared without a trace. After looking into the case, it was noted it happened only at nighttime. Couple of weeks of this mystery, they were finally sent to check out the place. It was assumed that the cursed spirit lurking around would be of Semi Grade 2 or a Grade 2.

After minutes they arrived at the location, it wasn't too far. They all stepped out and looked up at the tall, broad polished building. The exterior was coated in a smooth beige and large rectangular windows were evenly spaced out across each floor, representing each room.
