𝟎𝟒𝟓 ── the end of all might 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐳𝐮𝐳𝐮_𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐳
━━━━━━━━━━━
SHORTLY AFTER THE accident, we were transported to a nearby hospital—not that we stayed long compared to the rest of our classmates. Two days had passed, and the media had gone into a frenzy over Bakugo's kidnapping.
It had honestly been dull. To be fair, every day since had been just as monotonous. I lay in the grass outside our main base, encircled by towering trees as I gazed up at the sky. Wisps of white clouds drifted lazily overhead, the sun's warmth kissing my skin.
The distant murmur of a waterfall blended with the chirping of birds, creating a serene melody. I inhaled deeply, letting the crisp air fill my lungs before exhaling slowly. My eyes fluttered shut, relishing the moment of tranquility.
A sudden snap of a twig disrupted the peace, pulling a groan from my lips. Begrudgingly, I opened my eyes...
Only to find my mother's lifeless face staring back at me.
I gasped, shooting up from my spot and scrambling backward, my heartbeat hammering against my ribs. But when I blinked, there was nothing—just an empty patch of grass. A meter away, a small squirrel skittered at the base of a tree, its tiny paws brushing against a broken twig.
I exhaled shakily, willing my pulse to steady as I stared at the spot beside me, half-expecting the vision to return.
"Y/N?"
I turned my head at the familiar voice, my gaze landing on Deidara, who leaned casually against a tree. Swallowing the lump in my throat, I tore my eyes away from him, staring straight ahead.
He stepped closer before settling down beside me.
"You good, kid?"
"Why does everyone keep asking me that? I'm perfectly fine." I pulled my knees to my chest, resting my chin atop them, refusing to meet his eyes.
