I want to braid Compassionate Pure Vanilla Cookie's hair-
Sunlight streams through the window of the library in the Vanilla Kingdom castle. The golden walls and floor reflect that light, illuminating the dust in the air. The only sound is the lone page turn that echoes around the quiet room.
Sighing, (C/F) Cookie closes the book in their hands. Recently they've found themself here in the library to try and feel as if they were doing something useful. Ever since they got that letter from Pure Vanilla Cookie about what was going on in Beast-Yeast, they've felt anxious, and knowing there was nothing they could do to help was making them depressed.
Crossing the library through the shelves, they carefully set the book they've been reading back on the shelf. They get lost in their thoughts again, with their hand gently sliding off the spine of the book.
Pure Vanilla Cookie hasn't written them a letter in quite a while. Hopefully it's nothing, but they can't help but worry...
Suddenly a pair of soft hands cover their eyes, "Guess who!"
Speak of the Witches!
"Pure Vanilla Cookie?!" They spin around, gawking at their blonde lover.
He laughs at their surprise, carefully clasping their hands, "It's so good to see you. I've missed you." His mismatched eyes meet theirs from under his slightly messier bangs as he smiles fondly. "I love you." Thick white fabric has replaced the waffle cape and hat he wore before, and combined with everything else he exudes an elegance that shows how much more at peace he is than when he left.
"You're back?" They squeeze his hands. It's hard to believe this comforting presence in front of them is real.
"Yes." He nods. "We returned once Shadow Milk Cookie fled back into the shadows." His eyes crease happily as he pulls them into a hug, "I love you."
They return his embrace, and that's how they notice how much longer his hair is. Peeking over his shoulder, their eyes widen when they see that his once barely shoulder length hair now cascades down his back to the floor.
He looks so different... It's somewhat hard to believe he's the same Cookie.
As he pulls away he repeats, "I love you."
"I love you too, but... why are you saying it so much?" (C/F) Cookie meets his gaze quizzically.
His smile falls slightly, "I had a lot of time to think while we were traveling through Beast-Yeast, and after... I began worrying that I haven't expressed my feelings to you enough. So I've decided to tell you as often as I can!" Stepping away, Pure Vanilla Cookie takes their hand in his and heads for the library doors, "The Villagers are preparing a feast to celebrate our return. Would you like to rest with me in our chambers?"
"You don't intend to help?" They raise an eyebrow. Knowing him that wasn't out of the question.
But he squeezes their hand and says, "Right now I would rather spend time with you."
"Oh..." Gratitude floods their heart as they blush. Undoubtedly this is the Cookie they knew and loved, but somehow he seems so different.
Walking side by side, Pure Vanilla Cookie's expression drops to a frown as they make their way through the sunlit corridors to their chambers, "There is so much I need to tell you... Undoubtedly you've been worried because I haven't written to you since we left the Faerie Kingdom."
"What happened?" (C/F) Cookie walks in step beside him, watching his face shift awkwardly as he thinks.
"Where do I even begin?" His normally closed eyes open as he awkwardly smiles down at his feet. He sighs sadly, "Elder Faerie Cookie gave much of his Life Powder to revive White Lily Cookie only to crumble against Shadow Milk Cookie. Once Shadow Milk Cookie was sealed back in the Silver Tree we searched for the Beast Binding ritual and were tricked into entering his domain..."
