Chapter 6

When I went into chemistry the next day I say that Randy was flirting with the girl sitting next to him, Penny, and she was falling for him.

Ugh! Nothing is good enough for him. Jerk!

"Today we are reviewing elements," said Mr. Patter. "You will review with a partner."

He looked straight at me.

"Amanda with be with Clinton," he said. "Randy will be with Erin."

I nearly fell out of me chair. Me and the new boy?!??!?! PARTNERS?!?!?!??!??!?!

After Mr. Patter finish listing off the groups everyone started to move around. I stood up and walked like I had no time at all to Clinton's desk. 

"Hi," I said with a little wave.

Clinton smiled and did a shy wave. I smiled friendly and took the seat next to him. 

We talked about elements for a good portion of the rest of class.

"So what are you doing after school tomorrow?" Clinton asked me.

"Why do you ask?" I asked him. Was he asking me out??!!??!

"My mom wants me to try to make friends," he said. "You are the first person I have had a real conversation with so..."

He scratched the back of his neck.

"Would you like to be friends?" Clinton asked holding out his hand.

"Sure," I said shaking his hand. "And I can hang out tomorrow."

At the end of class I waved goodbye to him and walked down the hall.
