"WHAAAT?! YOU WERE ON BOARD WITH THE PIRATE KING?! luffy exclaimed, eyes and mouth agape in full shock. it wasn't just him who was astonished, it was most of his crew.
they were back at grove 13 inside shakky's rip off bar. after witnessing how they fought off the marines earlier, kurose analyzed their fighting styles, through not everyone of them fought it was still a good catch of information.
"yeah, i was the first mate. silvers rayleigh, nice to meet ya," rayliegh added nonchalantly.
"first mate?!"
kurose kept quiet, smirking at their reactions it was quite funny seeing two of them in tears. theo, on the other hand, turned to robin, "you finally went aboard, huh, robin?"
the said archaeologist turned to him and smiled, "yeah."
nami stopped crying, looking at theo, "right, what are you doing here?"
"we have some business here, so we stayed for a while," he answered sipping from his drink.
"and who's that...?" usopp asked pertaining to kurose who only stared at theo, glaring at him from the side. the cook only sweatdropped.
"oh this guy, he's....." he paused, feeling the glare intensified. "he's no one-!" he got smaked on the head, with some amount of armament haki at that. "he's a crew member. why do i have to introduce you? you introduce yourself, you idiot!" theo grumbled, muttering a that hurt, while massaging the bump forming on his head.
the strawhats deadpanned, they somewhat have the same vibes as their blonde cook and moss-haired swordsman.
kurose sighed and bowed his head slightly, making the rookie crew a bit confused. "thanks for taking him for a ride last time," finally looking up, he smiled. "you have my gratitude, i am erebus kuroso from the midnight pirates. nice to finally meet you."
rayleigh laughed, before smirking at kurose, "well aren't you humble?"
"please stop, ray-san."
"kurose, huh?" zoro's voice emerged, now being the center if attention. "you're a swordsman right?" with sharp eyes he asked, not moving from his seat.
kurose only stared at him and the sword beside him.
"zoro, you know him?" franky asked, raising a brow.
"i know a swordsman when i see one."
kurose chuckled, showing his dark red scabbard, "yes, i am. they call me the blade of the autumn mist, the second in command of my crew."
"i see, you're good, huh?"
"well, i don't know, i'm only the second when it comes to my crew."
their conversation got cut off with a ring of a baby den den mushi, theo pulled the snail out from his pocket and answered the call.
"what's wrong?"
"where are you two?!"
"we're at shakky's-"
"i don't care! hurry up back here, we're at grove 55. please hurry up!"
"is something wrong?" rayleigh interrupted.
sobs could be heard from the other line, "ray-san! it's captain! she heard the news, although we got her under control, she's still out of it..... what? what's wrong? oh no! captain!" the line cut off.
"it was nice meeting you guy, we'll be heading out. sorry for cutting this conversation short." kurose was already out the door while theo stayed to say goodbye. "let's see each other again in the new world! nami, you still have the paper i gave you?"
nami reached out from her pocket, showing theo the vivre card. seeing as it's still the same as before, theo smiled. "that's actually captain's vivre card. take care of it, alright? i'll see you guys next time!"
with that the two left.
rayleigh huffed in frustration. "how have they been? i actually haven't seen any news of them in a few months, not after they visited alabasta." robin skaed the old man.
"they went dormant, after all that happened between their crew. they stayed lay low for a while, i guess they've finally recovered and entered the scene. their crew is known for being night raiders, their members are known as weapon masters, especially their captain."
"yeah.." nami muttered, "few years back, their names was scattered all over newspapers, i literally couldn't sleep for a few night when i knew they sailed at night even though i don't live in the grand line."
"hahaha! they did have that effect."
"you know them, robin-swan?" robin nodded at sanji, "they've helped me before."
luffy smiled, "that helped you before, huh? we should thank them next time, right?" robin smiled back, "yes, i really should."
...
they went back to the conversation related to the pirate king, roger. "there are certainly a few people still alive today who took something away from what roger said that day... shanks, the man you know so well was one of the. if we're talking east blue, you must know a pirate named buggy?" nami and zoro groaned as if his name was a curse."and lastly, the captain of those two, [name]."
"the three of them apprenticed on our ship." rayleigh continued.
in shock, luffy spit out his food, "ehhhh?! shanks was on the pirate king's ship?!"
"yeah, look at this." rayleigh then pulled out a photo from beyond the pocket of his shorts. "they were all so small back then."
the photo contained, three figures. luffy recognized shanks on the right side wearing his straw hat, grinning. buggy was on the left, slightly scowling, side-eyeing shanks. and lastly, [name] in the middle , who was smiling ear to ear, holding on shanks arm.
"ten years ago, i ran into shanks, who was missing his trademark straw hat and an arm. when i asked him, he smiled and started talking about you. while [name] has been trying to locate you, robin."
robin smiled softly, looking down at her drink. you don't have to worry about me anymore, [name]. i found my friends.
