[Splatoon] The secret that lays in our hearts

Chapter 7: Squish Squash Smash... The Mighty Octostomp!

They went into their squid forms and dived into the kettle, it was a long fall,
"Woah!" Laughed Duncan, he felt the enclosed air breeze past his face. Abbie didn't know the fall was going to be this huge, and shook in fear. They soon reached the ground, and they both landed on their feet.

In front of them was a launchpad, as well as a large area with a ginormous cube placed there. They used the launch pad to get to the other side, they flew and landed. They walked forwards to the giant-cube-looking thing, suddenly the Zapfish started to float down onto it,
"The Zapfish!" Duncan said, has he walked further towards the giant cube until a giant-purple tentacle came out of the top of the cube,
"Giant...tentacle?!" Duncan started to back away, the tentacle grabbed the Zapfish and pulled it down into the hole with force, electric burst out of the cube, as it flipped over to a face, Duncan started to laugh,
"WHAT IS THAT?!" He couldn't contain the laughter. The thing roared as it's face popped out.

It started to charge towards Abbie, it's midget legs ran faster than they thought. Abbie rapidly fired her gun at it, not knowing exactly what to do, it came closer and closer to her, Abbie was in fear, she couldn't move she didn't understand why,
"Abbie, look out!" Duncan shouted as the thing leaped into the air, Duncan ran to Abbie, he jumped and pushed her out of the way. The monster face-planted in the ground as it waggled it's legs struggling to get up,
"That was close." Duncan said looking behind him, not realising what was going on,
"Um..." Abbie muttered, Duncan looked down as he was on top of Abbie,
"Uh..." She muttered again, her face was a bright red, Duncan stayed there for a little bit in shock, as his blush got larger,
"Oh...um...sorry..." He said as he got off of Abbie, he stood up and looked at it, it seemed to still be stuck as it's legs flailed in the air, Duncan looked back to Abbie,
"Are you alright?" He said,
"Little squashed..." Abbie replied, as she looked up to him laying on the floor,
"At least I weren't that 50 tonne thing." Duncan said as he stuck his tongue out, Abbie stuck her tongue out,
"To you too." She said, Duncan held his hand out to help her up, Abbie grabbed his hand and Duncan pulled to help her back up, buuut maybe a little to hard, they fell on top of each other again, yet the other way around, Duncan laughed and blushed,
"You're clumsy." He said, as Abbie pouted, blushing, she immediately got up, Duncan just laid on the floor, the thing still flailed it's legs in the air, Duncan got up and walked over to it, he could see the giant-purple tentacle flailing around on top, he poked the side of the cube,
"If we ink up the side of it, we can swim up it." Duncan said, hoping the idea would work, he grabbed his gun and shot up the side of it, and he was on top, and he shot the tentacle, hoping it would do something. It started to grow green as he shot it and seemed to have exploded, Duncan jumped off and ran as the thing was erupting in purple ink, the tentacle came back out and swayed as the monster turned around, it slammed it's face into itself resulting in some of the blocks breaking off. It roared and charged for the two again,
"Let it slam on you, but run whilst it's in the air! Climb the side of it!" Duncan shouted to Abbie, she nodded. It ran towards Duncan, it leaped in the air as he ran to the side, they inked both sides of the monster and swam up the top as quick as they could being careful not to touch the missing sides, as they could electrocute them, the legs on the monster were trying to get up really fast, the top of it was shaking, Duncan fell off,
"Shoot it!" He shouted from the ground, Abbie shot it rapidly as the tentacle went back into the pool of purple ink, and erupted. She jumped off and helped Duncan off of the ground, as they ran far away. The tentacle swayed again, but faster, the monster turned around again as he broke off more of the panels on his cube body, the panels moved as the electric force was huge, it could burn the two to a crisp. The thing roared, as it looked at Abbie and Duncan, and started to rush towards them, Duncan looked behind him, he needed a time to plan this out but there was nowhere to go, until he noticed the slope behind them both,
"Abbie follow me!" He said, hoping this was a safe place, she gave a confused look on her face but followed him anyway, he slid down the slope and waited for Abbie to slide down. She looked behind her as the monster was right behind her, she immediately came down. The monster stopped, and couldn't see the two, and walked off,
"Phew we're safe." Duncan said, as he sat down, Abbie sat next to him. Duncan looked into the distance as he started to think if something to beat the monster. An idea suddenly came to his head,
"You know the panels move? Maybe if we wedge them with something they'll stop?" Duncan said, Abbie looked around,
"But nothing's here." She replied. Duncan sighed. He started to think again. He came up with an idea,
"Stay here." He said, as he inked up the slope and swam up it, he ran out to the monster as it noticed him. He threw out a seeker to the side, as it jumped and landed, he appeared from the side of the monster and started to ink the moving panels, and carefully swam up them, he jumped on the top, and started shooting the tentacle, Duncan jumped and ran off to Abbie, but he didn't go down the slope, instead looking back, it exploded and erupted, but it fell over as his legs started to go in circles, and he started to glow green, the electric current was around it and it exploded in green, chunks of metal flew everywhere. Duncan was covered in green ink. He shook it off,
"You can come up now." Duncan said, Abbie looked up and swam up the slope. They walked towards the Zapfish, yet a scroll laid on the floor, Duncan picked it up as Abbie shattered the orb and grabbed the Zapfish,
"Avast... They have the Great Octoweapons on their side... At any rate, good work, Agents 3 and 4! Keep it up! It's a long road to the Great Zapfish!" Said Cap'n through the mic, they left the lair.

They came out of the kettle and saw a starry night sky, it looked beautiful,
"What's the time?" Asked Abbie,
"About 9:30pm." Replied Duncan, they both looked at each other and then ran to the drain to leave,
"Good night, Cap'n." Said Duncan as he went through the drain, Abbie waved and followed along.

Inkopolis was empty, all the shops were closed, and all was lighting the place was the bright, night sky. They stood there with their hero-suit's in their bags, just staring at the empty plaza,
"We better go home before it gets too late." Duncan said,
"Yeah.." Abbie replied. They headed off to their homes and went straight to bed. They were exhausted from today.
