Chapter 9: Floating Sponges...w-wait a minute!!-

Abbie and Duncan looked ahead and saw a yellow cube-shaped object. Duncan hopped down and examined the object,
"It's a spon--"
"That there is a sponge!" Cap'n interrupted,
"I was just about to say that..." Duncan muttered,
"Whoops, sorry!" Cap'n chuckled a bit.

Duncan looked back towards Abbie, she had still not hopped down,
"I-I'm sorry...can you go without me?" she stuttered, shaking and fearful to hop down,
"I'm not leaving without you." Duncan replied,
"Why can't you leave me?..." Abbie looked down towards him, but then turning immediately,
"I enjoy your company, and we're a team. You don't have to come far; just stay with me for a while." Duncan smiled, Abbie looked back towards him and her she had a feint blush.

She took a deep breath, and closed her eyes, she jumped down. Abbie slowly opened her left eye to see that she had landed safely on both of her feet, she looked up to Duncan staring at the sponge,
"I think...we shoot it with ink? Y'know...since sponges absorb and all." He wondered, Abbie walked over and shot a small bit of ink, the sponge grew a little bigger, they both looked at each other, and then to the sponge, then deciding to shoot the sponge until it stopped growing,
"Maybe we swim up it, as it looks like it's all ink now?" Abbie said, Duncan nodded and they both attempted to swim up the sponge, and succeeded,
they looked up and two Explode-o-bots, charging towards them, out of fear, Abbie threw a splat-bomb, it blew the bots up, as well as made the sponge grow,
"Nice throw." Duncan said,
"Heh...thanks." Abbie replied, they both ran and swam up the sponge, they stopped behind the wall, and two octotroopers were patrolling, Duncan peered around the corner and threw a splat-bomb, it began to tick, the octotroopers noticed it and try to flee, but failed. Abbie and Duncan came out from behind the wall and saw another sponge, Abbie was about to shoot it with ink,
"Wait," Duncan said, Abbie lowered her hero shot,
"There's an Octarian up there." he whispered, looking up to it. Abbie nodded and tried to quietly fire her gun, as they swam up another sponge was there,
"W-We're going higher?..." she muttered,
"Do you want to stop here and stay?" Duncan asked,
"N-No, I'm alright." Abbie replied, beginning to shoot the other sponge. As they swam up they shot the Octotrooper that was guarding the small platform, Abbie was hesitantly swimming up each sponge, but they eventually ended up by a launch pad.

They soared through the sky to another section of the area, and landed on a small platform.

They looked ahead and saw two Octoballs with a sponge in between them, Duncan hopped down and waited for Abbie to come down too.

She closed her eyes and took another deep breath, and hopped down, nearly losing her balance from shaking too much. Duncan held her arms until she stopped shaking and she opened her eyes, "Oh-uhh-sorry!...I'm really pathetic when it comes to heights." she muttered, blushing, "That's okay, don't worry about it." Duncan gave a warm smile.

They inked the ground and headed their way up to the two Octoballs. They both were running around aimlessly shooting around just so the Octoballs would get stuck.

After a little while of circling around the sponge they finally got them stuck and shot them.

They proceeded up and came to a halt. Sponges were making a path ahead of them but were spaced out, "What do we do now?" Abbie said, grabbing tightly on the rail beside her, "Cap'n, you got any advice?" Asked Duncan over the speaker, "Well - you have those fish-robot-things that seek...and those bombs on you. Try using them?" Cap'n advised, trying to think of what the bombs were called, "Seekers?" Abbie asked, "Oh, yes, them!" Cap'n cheered, "Great memory!".

Duncan looked in the pockets of his Hero Jacket to see if there was any Seekers in there, he grabbed something that felt like a metal and pulled it out.
