Asiah sits on the closed toilet seat flipping through the baby name book while I shave my face “What do you think of the name Jacob?”
“Too popular”
“What about Daniel?”
“Put it on the list”
“Ethan?”
“Nope”
“Wyatt?”
“No”
“Alexander?”
“Put it on the list”
“What do we have on the list?”
“Trenton, Mason, Jordan, Daniel...I kinda don't like the name Jordan anymore”
“Why not?” I ask
“I just don't like the sound of it”
“Cross it off”
“Really?”
“Yeah”
“Jaden, Hayden, Peyton?”
“No too all of those” I say throwing some aftershave on my face
“What about Lyndon, Malcolm, Marlon”
“Put Malcolm on the list” I say leaving the bathroom
Asiah follow behind me “Your turn” she says giving me the book as she climbs into bed
“He needs a strong name he is a Jackson man after all” I say thumbing through the book
“Yes, he does” she says closing her eyes
“You going to sleep?”
“Hmm no I'm just resting my eyes”
I put the book on my nightstand “We still go seven months to choose a name...no rush now get some sleep” I kiss her temple

“Daddy's home!” I shout
Jasmine comes from the kitchen with her five month belly poking out from her shirt “Finally your back”
“Yup, here I am in the flesh”
“Good, now you can help me get that peanut butter off the top shelf”
“Really?”
“Really, I hope our daughter gets your tall gene”
“Yeah?” I walk into the kitchen and grab the peanut better off the shelf
“Yeah, that way when your not around she can help her mama out”
“Why don't you go sit down and I'll finish whatever this is” I say pointing to the counter which has multiple jar sitting on it
“It's a peanut butter jelly sandwich with ketchup”
“That's nasty”
“It's all she wants lately” she say rubbing her stomach
“Does daddy's little girl making mommy crave nasty food” I say talking in a baby voice to her stomach
Jasmine smacks me “You better make our sandwich before she and I both throw a fit”
