Waking up as a human is noticeably different than waking up as an angel. I feel much groggier upon awakening, and the desire to stay in bed is almost overwhelming; a feeling I have never felt before. Despite wanting to fall back asleep, I will myself out of bed, rubbing my face as my feet pad across the wooden flooring to the kitchen.

As I splash some water on my face to further wake myself up, I look out of the window above the kitchen sink, admiring the Seattle skyline.

Today is much less gloomy than yesterday. Despite it being December, the sun still shines brightly with only fluffy white clouds to be seen. I can see what I know to be Mount Rainier in the distance, the tip of the mountain fading into the opaque clouds.

Perhaps I will do some exploring to occupy myself today. Then tomorrow, I must get my school schedule clarified and tour the college campus I have yet to become accustomed to.

I fix myself a bowl of fruit with a glass of water, not feeling ambitious enough to put any of the many recipe books lining the shelves of the kitchen to use. As I sit down at the breakfast bar, I notice a stack of white boxes adorned with gray apple stickers sitting on the counter. With my bowl in hand, I stand back up and amble over to the packages, unsure if they are what I think they are.

I shimmy the boxes open to find brand new pieces of technology; one I know to be a phone, and the other a computer. I decide to leave the computer for later, and walk back over to the breakfast bar with my bowl of fruit and the new iPhone I have yet to familiarize myself with.

Sipping my water out of its glass, I wait for the phone to turn on, following the user's manual step-by-step.

Surprisingly, especially considering how much of an amateur I am when it comes to technology, the phone is incredibly simple to set up. I find myself customizing the device to my liking, learning all the features the sleek electronic has to offer.

I learn my phone number, knowing full-well that it is an important piece of information to most people, and end up downloading a few different "social media" apps, unsure how to put them to their best use.

After finishing my breakfast, I take a long shower and style my hair in its typical 'quiff' fashion. I make my way to the bedroom with only so much as a towel around my waist, planning to find an outfit from the oversized walk-in-closet Donovan's note addressed.

Without much effort, I find a solid gray sweater and black skinny jeans that appear appropriate for the weather, along with a pair of simple black vans and a black denim jacket.

I should fit in just fine wearing this.

Eventually, I find my way down to the lobby of the building, only after introducing myself to some of the staff who are all seemingly lovely people. The bellman offers to hail a taxi for me, and I accept his offer, not knowing my way around anyway.

The kind sir and I stand at the curb outside of the large glass doors of my residential building as he holds his white gloved hand out for a cabbie to notice. It does not take long for a yellow Prius to pull over, allowing me to step into the small vehicle. I thank the bellman as he nods, smiling at me while closing the car door behind me.
