Chapter 16

(Luke's P.O.V.)

A few days later she still hasn't woken up and we're getting really worried. We have to leave for tour soon, and they won't let us reschedule. 

By now Anne, Lauren, and Harry are all here. They had been visiting relatives, and came home right away when they heard about Sydney. Ashton is glad to have them here, Anne especially. I explained to Anne why Sydney passed out, but we both agreed it would be a bad idea to tell Ashton. 

Michael and Calum ended up heading home for a bit after all. They missed their families and it was better than sitting around in a hospital, I guess. I would've gone home, but I can't leave her. I think Anne has started to suspect something's up, but Ashton hasn't caught on and that's all that matters. 

I'm starting to think I may love her, not just like her. I'm afraid if I leave, I'll come back and she will be gone. I think if that happens... I would break.

Everyones worried about me, almost as much as they worry about Syd. I am barely eating, never wanting to leave her side, having a bunch of anxiety attacks, etc. 

I'm going into panic mode. I don't know how I can be expected to sing or perform like this. 

Finally one day everyone gets me to go buy some food for myself at a café. While I'm here, two girls come up to me. I can tell right away they're fans, because they're both trembling and one of them is wearing our band's shirt. 

"H-Hi. We have a que-question for you..." The girl who said that has glasses and is wearing an All Time Low shirt. She looks about Sydney's age, and really nice. 

"What is it?" I haven't realized until now how bad my voice sounds after all the crying I've been doing. It's scratchy and barely audible.

"Who's this girl? Are you two dating?" The second girl holds up her phone which has a picture of Sydney. I instantly break into tears and can't respond. 

The first girl hugs me. "I'm sorry for whatever she said. We were just worried because the news said she was transported to the hospital, and yeah..." 

"She-She's in a coma. And no we're not dating... She's a friend." I look down, disappointed at the words I just said. I wish she was my girlfriend, I really do. But I don't have the guts to ask her out. 

"Can we maybe meet the rest of the boys?" I look at the girl, the second one, who asked that. She doesn't look as nice as the other girl. She has blonde hair and large brown eyes. She was the kind of girl everyone would fall for. 

"CHRISTINA NO!! Can't you understand that it's a bad time for all of them!?!" The girl with glasses glares at her friend.

"I-It's ok. You can meet them. I already heard Christina's name, but what's your name?" I turn to the girl with glasses and black hair.

"Helena." 

A.N. I warned you about new characters!! So this was more of a filler chapter. The next chapter will hopefully be super good.
