~Alexis~

I paced back and forth across my room. I was so determined that this wouldn't happen. Couldn't happen. How did it happen? I ran my fingers through my hair, stopping suddenly, realising that I was creating a small whirlwind inside my room.

Breath Alex Breath I murmured to myself softly, attempting to follow my own advice I sat on my bed and covered my face in my hands.

I promised myself I'd stay out of this, small things only I groaned loudly and slammed my head into my pillow- with a little too much force. My bed creaked loadly before a huge cracking sound shattered the silence and my bed fell through into the floor as I yelped in surprise.

"You'd think after 14 years I'd be used to this shit, but noooo" I sighed disheartedly and rolled smoothly off my bed and onto the floor where I lay for a few moments. I wondered if I hit myself enough times on the head with this floor, it might damage my brain and kill me before I went on a suicide mission myself. I wasn't quite sure how long I laid there. Minutes, hours, hell I don't think I would have noticed if a week went by and I was still lying here.

~36 hours earlier~

"So wait, what?" My brow furrowed as I stared at my maths homework which I had forgotten to do the night before. Blake groaned dramatically and I gave him an apologetic look.

"Ok so you understand this-"

"Class! Books away! You can finish your unfinished homework later" Mr Gartanberg called, cutting Blake off and eyeing a number of students accusingly, "Now everyone, we are going to start a new topic today" He turned towards the board and wrote in large letters "CALCULUS". A collective groan travelled around the class.

"I see you've had the chance to meet Calculus so far, but don't worry, we are just going over limits today"

"Does that mean we can use "The limit does not exist" A girl called out from the back, causing a ripple of laughter throughout the class.

"Not unless you are Lindsey Lohan, and start getting A's in maths" He replied, a low ooohhh travelling around the class followed by more laughter.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she smoked the same stuff as Lindsey" Blake leaned over and whispered in my ear as Mr. Gartanberg turned his back. There was a sudden knock on the door and everyone turned to see who was entering, before sitting up straighter than I deemed possible. Our principal, Mr. Salzmann, walked in and eyed off every single one of us suspiciously.

Mr Salzmann was a chronically annoyed man with grey hair in his early 40s. There were rumours that he was married but had an affair with one of the history teachers but since no one could ever prove it and the fact that almost everyone had something against him made the information somewhat unreliable.

He suddenly cleared his throat, as if her was expecting the already quiet room to delve further into silence.

"Jayden Millar? Is Jayden Millar in this class?" He looked around expectantly as we all stared back at him with blank expressions on our faces.

"Sir, he hasn't turned up yet" Mr Gartanberg replied when no one else would, changing the faces of just about everyone in the class.

Jayden was in my class?! Since when! I can't have missed him being in the class could I? No, that's ridiculous

My thoughts were interrupted by the door slamming shut and Mr Gartanberg laughing at our shocked faces.

"He's transferred into our class from the advanced maths, everybody calm down, this does happen in school"
