The purple bed

Alana POV

-----------------------------------------------

I skipped, yes I actually skipped, all the way up the stairs while Lucas followed behind me closely. I had my blue bag with white polka dots in one hand and my brown leather, studded  bag in the other. I was one happy girl. That's because you get to share a room with the cutest guy here.

I rolled my eyes at that thought. As we reached the top of the steps I let out a long sigh. "Here we are!" I said smiling. I approached the large, dark wood door labeled with a four and turned the knob. I sucked in a sharp breath at the beautiful sight. I didn't take time to actually look at the rooms earlier when I was labeling them. However, I did happen to notice that this one was the largest.

It had two full sized beds that were facing forward. They were separated  with a window in the middle. The bed on the left had a deep purple cover and the other had a navy blue one. The window actually had one of those window beds in the window sill. That looks like a comfy place to read.

There was also another huge perk about this room. There were two closets and a full bathroom attached.

Out of no where, I felt a chin rest on my shoulder, reminding me that I wasn't alone. Right...

"Hah! We got the best room. I call the purple bed!" Lucas said enthusiastically.

"Over my dead body!" I called over my shoulder as I ran towards it. I plopped down on the bed and laid on my back, sinking into the soft mattress. I then felt him grab my feet and pull me completely off of it. I landed on my butt as he jumped onto my  bed.

"That wasn't very nice," I huffed. "Don't take what's mine then," Lucas grumbled. I looked up just in time to see him poke his head over the foot of the bed. He was grinning as he offered me his hand. I quickly took it and pulled him until he came tumbling off. "Hah!" I shouted at the same time Lucas said, "Owww."

I quickly jumped up from beside him. As I was about to launch myself on the mattress, I felt a hand wrap around my ankle. I screeched as I climbed onto the top of the bed. When I finally managed to get on it, Lucas released my ankle. All of a sudden, he was right beside me on top of the covers. I shot my hands out into his chest in an attempt to push him off before he could do the same to me.

He tipped over a bit and quickly grabbed my hands when I was about to shove him again. He pinned them above my head on the mattress. I looked into his pale blue eyes as I said, "Can't blame a girl for trying, can you?" His smile grew and his eyes lit up. "Does this mean I get the purple bed?," he asked quietly while leaning in closer to me.

My heart rate picked up from his close proximity. This is almost like...Joey... Thoughts of Joey began to flood my brain. I squirmed against Lucas's hold as the memories assaulted my mind and soon I was paralyzed with fear. I felt my whole body stiffen as they rolled in. I opened my mouth to say something, but my voice was stuck in my throat.

*Flash Back*

Water poured out of the sky relentlessly. I was soaked to the bone as I trudged down the empty street. Joey was supposed to pick me up. He was also supposed to make up it up to me for the last  time he forgot to come get me. I shivered violently and crossed my arms across my chest. I pressed them into my body for warmth as I continued down the dark street.

When I heard squeaky tires beside me I didn't even bother to look at the car. I knew it was him. "BABE! Get in," he shouted at me. I shook my head and continued to walk. "Don't call me babe," I mumbled through the rain. "Don't be like that! I'm sorry that I forgot. Come on, get in! You're going to get sick," he pleaded. I turned my head to look at him.
