Twisted Disney #15 - Brave

Merida bounded up the stairs of the castle. She was a woman with a mission and there was no stopping her. Unless of course you were her father, a man who would do anything to have himself another bear to brag about, and he would really brag if he killed  it while they had visitors.

She ran to her parents room. That would be where the tapestry was. The tapestry that she had so idiotically destroyed simply to show her mother that she didn't want to be a princess. Only now did she realize that lady was much more complicated than choosing between a crown or a bow.

When she and her mother reached the room, she walked over to the tapestry and ran a hand over it. "Mend the broken bond," she mumbles. She turned around to look at the bear. "Quick, find a needle and thread!" she ordered.

The bear turned around and began digging through things. As she pulled out the needle and thread, she caught sight of a bowl of fruit nearby. She dropped the needle and thread and went after the fruit. Merida watched her. "Mom!" she cried. "Not now!"

The bear looked up at her, its mouth full of fruit. Merida walked over to get the needle and thread, but heard something outside. She quickly covered her mother's mouth to block out the sound of her breath.

The sounds of heavy feet flowed into the room from under the door. Merida watched the shadows pass then ran up to the door to see her father walk pass. How close they had come to being caught was all she could think about.

She ran over to the tapestry and pulled it off the wall. She drug it over to the middle of the room where it would be the easiest for her to mend. She quickly began to pull the needle through, making the two pieces one again.

"MERIDA!!!" she suddenly heard from down the hall. Merida gasped and looked at her mother. She pointed to a spot between the bed and the wall.

"Hide!" she told the bear, but it was too late. The door burst open to reveal her father. He looked at Merida, then the messy room, and then finally the bear.

"What happened?" he asked. Merida held up her hands to him.

"It's not what it looks like!" she said. He shook his head and ran past her. He pulled his sword out and swung it at the bear. "NO! Dad, don't touch her!" Merida said as she got up. She grabbed her father's arm but he just swung her off.

The bear's motherly instincts took over and she slashed her arms so hard at King Fergus that he flew back and hit the wall. The bear realized what she did and backed up with sad eyes. It stood up, looked at its claws, and ran out the door.

"Mom!" Merida yelled after it. Fergus got up to run after. Merida tried to follow, but he closed to door and locked Merida inside.

"Stay here!" he ordered before he ran off down the hall. Merida watched him go. She ran over to the fireplace and picked up the coal poker. She tried to use it as a crowbar to open the door. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

Merida threw the metal stick behind her, figuring it was no use. She stood on her tiptoes and looked outside into the hallway. "Someone!" she yelled. "Someone help!" She went on like that for at least half an hour until finally she thought it was useless and sat down in the middle of the room on top of the tapestry.

The men chased the bear out into a large clearing in the middle of the woods. They navigated their horses in a circle so they had the bear trapped. She looked around at them all with a sad gleam in her eyes.

They all jumped off their horses and threw ropes across the clearing at one another so the could tie the bear down. Men poked spears at her and swung their torches in her face, daring her to fight back. She let them force her to the ground.

Finally, as the sun began to just barely show itself over to the top of the trees, they had her tied down the way the wanted. They all clapped each other on the back and congratulated one another on the feat of capturing the bear.

King Fergus was the only exception. He walked over to his horse and pulled his sword out of the sattle bag. He held it out elegantly in front of him as he walked in front of the men and up to the bear. They all grew silent as he approached it.

The bear looked up at King Fergus. She could see the ignorance on his face. He didn't realize that it was his wife. The bear was not Queen Elinor. It was a creature that had broken into his castle and threatened his family. He was only doing his duty to his family.

His duty required him to take the life of this creature. She knew that there was no way to stop him, especially not now. She stared into his eyes, the eyes she was so accustomed to falling asleep behind and sitting next to at the dinner table.

He rose the sword above his head and stared down at his target. Then, in what seemed to take hours yet seconds at the same time, he drove it down and right through the bear's heart.

All of the men erupted into cheers, not even caring that they had killed an innocent person. It was a beautiful kill that would be perfect to show off at the king's parties.

Disclaimer: Brave belongs to Disney Pixar, not me.

Sorry that this took so long. I had planned to write one for Alice in Wonderland and then I worked all week to watch it and then when I finally finished it I was like how to I change the ending into some tragedy?... Yeah, so, that was part of my problem.

Sneak Peak: So here is where I give you all false hope on what to expect in the next update! I dunno! We'll see what I watch tomorrow because I am going to write an update tomorrow to save for one day this weekend.
