Moment Of Truth?

Me and Joshua strolled hand in hand up to the front desk of the hospital. The woman swivelled her chair around to face us, she repositioned her glasses and typed furiously on her computer.

"How may I help you?" She asked in a soft tone while she typed and clicked away on her computer

"I have an appointment with Dr. Frank" I claimed

"Ah, yes. He shall be with you shortly" she assured me, whilst picking up the phone to make a call.

"Thank you" I said tearing Joshua away from the desk to available seats.

"Why does it have to be a man?" He asked agitated about the fact that my doctor is a man

"Joshua, it's not a big deal" I told him

"Well it will be when-

"Yn Yln?" Dr. Frank called out

"Yes that's me" I answered rising from my seat with Joshua beside me

"If you'd like to follow me" he said, walking to a deserted room

I sat on the bed with Joshua next to me hold my waist. Dr. Frank scanned over his notes before speaking.

"You came recently and was tested for pregnancy, correct me if I'm wrong"

"Yes, I did" I assured him

I tapped my foot subconsciously, scared of what the results will say.

"The tests we took came back negative, however you were experiencing morning sickness... Hm... I don't believe it's anything serious, but rest assured you're not pregnant as far as we can tell" Dr. Frank informed us

Joshua stared at the floor whilst Dr. Frank spoke.

I guess he's not happy about the news.

"Thank you for your time doctor" I said picking up my bag off of the floor and exiting the room with Joshua glued to my side.

"We can try again you know" I told Joshua

His eyes filled with hope, he cracked a small a smile.

"I know"

I hugged him to relieve him of our loss. We continued walking to the exit of the hospital and I spotted someone I was very familiar with.

"Tiana, what brings you to the hospital?" I asked her

"I think I'm having a baby" Tiana replied cheerfully

"No way" I laughed in shock, I glanced over at Joshua to see him looking down at the floor again

"Yes way, well I'll catch you later" she waved me off and I continued walking with Joshua

"It's okay" I reminded him before kissing him on his cheek

We strolled home, most of the way Joshua was silent.

He really wants a baby huh?

"Why do you want a baby so much?" I asked, slinging myself on the couch.

"I want to have my own family"  he sulked, sliding down next to me

"You have a family" I explained, looking over at him

"Yeah, but not with you" he huffed, turning on the TV

I stared at him for a while flabbergasted by his comment, he watched the TV emotionlessly, not even laughing at the jokes that were made.
