"Mia , spend the day with your mom , she misses you" my mom said down the phone

"Yeah , sure . I'll be over in 5" I smiled as I hung up

I pulled on my shoes and locked my apartment door . It felt weird to stay at the apartment alone , since the first night Jax stayed and I stayed with Hale for two nights . I guess he's just giving me space , I don't blame him though . I'm still not over the Brianna thing and I need a little time .

I got in my car and drove towards my parents house . I knew my dad was up in Nevada again , talking to some guys who are in no mad . Eventually a quick drive and I parked in the driveway and got out.

"I'm in the back" I heard my mom shout from the back garden

I made my way towards the back gate and opened it to see my mom lounging on garden chair with drinks on the table . Not like her to be drinking early afternoon .

"How have you been?" I asked taking a seat

"Good , good . How's work ?" My mom asked

"I've finished my substitute job , so I'm workless right now but I'm looking for another job" I said

"Hopefully out of this shithole town" my mom laughed

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked

"I want more for you Mia than this crappy life . You deserve the world , not a life in charming . You should be out exploring , travelling , having fun" my mom said taking a draw from her cigarette

"It's not a crappy life mom . It's been my life since I can remember and if I want to be here then I will be here" I said trying to end the discussion

"Trust me being an old lady isn't great . I know im never going to be good enough for your dad , he always wants more and it doesn't help that I'm getting older" she said looking at me

"Dad loves you and since when do you care how old you are getting ? He married you didn't he!" I said defending my dad

"No need to get offensive honey , I'm just saying " my mum said shrugging her shoulders

I checked my phone to see a text from willow asking me to meet her at the club house and I decided it was better than spending the day with my drunk mother .

"I have to go" I said standing from my seat

"Somewhere more important to be?" My mum asked

"Yeah actually" I smirked

"You're so dumb Mia . You think this is the best life , you think you are invincible because you are the daughter of a son . You're so silly to think that it's amazing . Soon you're going to be Jax tellers old lady and think you are on top of the world but I know this life isn't for you . I know you want more and deep down you know it too " my mom said

"The saying goes mother knows best but I don't think you know what's best for anyone anymore" and with that I left

My mom is annoying , especially when she is drinking . She never used to be a big drinker but now she is and it's a little scary . She's a very aggressive drunk sometimes and doesn't know when to shut her mouth .

I drove to the club house hoping Jax wasn't around but as soon as I pulled up I saw his bike , great . Can't I just have one day away from him .

"Mia " willow shouted as I parked my car

"Prospect , my brakes are a little squeaky , can you get someone to check them?" I asked throwing him my keys

"Sure thing" he smiled as he walked towards my car and I walked towards willow
