Two Days Later

I hugged Arwen and the twins and waved to them as they faded out of sight. Haldir took my hand and I smiled at him and placed a small kiss on his lips. He smiled back and hand in hand, we walked back to my room. Haldir closed the door behind him and I sat down on the bed. He sat down next to me and said gently
"Nienor, I want you to know how much I love you." He pushed into my hand a small leaf. It was green and tiny. I smiled and replied
"Haldir, what does the leaf stand for?"
"Our love, fresh and new, green and growing." I smiled and pressed the leaf to my chest.
"Thank you Haldir. It means so much to me." He kissed my forehead and stood up.
"I must return to the wall."
"I will see you tonight." He nodded and walked out of the room. I got up and opened a small box made of wood and carefully placed the leaf into the box. But even as I lay it into the box, it was going brown and dry. It was dying. I let my tears dripped down my cheeks, as I thought of my parents, their dead bodies drifting in the wind. I leaned against the wall, and let myself slid down the wall. I sat against the wall, sobbing. The door opened and Beleniel walked in.
"Nienor, what is wrong?" She sat down next to me. I pulled her close to me and hugged her.
"I miss my parents. I will never forget." Beleniel snuggled up and replied
"Forget what?"
"Our father. I saw...."
"You saw what?"
"Our father was hanging above the gate. His head was missing and his body was torn into pieces. Beleniel, put mother's blood covering my hands. I will forget that. I won't forget that girl was killed by the orcs. The blood that covered me. You don't forget those things." Beleniel wrapped her small arms around me and whispered
"Don't try to forget them. It only makes them stay." I smiled at her and kissed her forehead.
"You are wise young one." She smiled and we sat against the wall for a long time.

Ten Years Later
Tomorrow was my birthday. Galadriel had took me to stay away from her. I just smiled and walked away. I think she was planing a surprise. I ran though the forest, letting wind messing up my hair. I ran until I couldn't breath anymore. I was happy and healed. I started to sing a tune and laughing under the trees. Things heal over time. I was healed. And my heart was happy.
