Detective Waters
I just stayed in the room after Howard stormed out. The most anticipated interrogation was about to come alive with Luke Rails, Harry's husband and I had a feeling that this would blow the top off of this case. Luke walked onto the room five minutes later with a more than devious smile on his face. He showed no signs of grief, one this was for sure, this would be interesting.
"I'm sorry for your loss Luke" Without any hesitation Luke jumped right into the case
"Look Aaron, I didn't kill my Husband"
I raised an eyebrow, in hopes of intimidating the young man. Besides that how on earth did Luke know my first Name, but back to the case
"Well your Mother-In-Law sure doesn't think so"
He chuckled lightly, clapping his hands simultaneously
"Marie never liked me because I didn't come from money and I wasn't kissing her behind when I met her, she hates me because I'm just like she was and she realizes how bad that would be for someone to end up with someone like her"
After finishing his lengthy statement, Luke caught his breath and looked me in my eyes
"Well after interrogating Howard, I believe you have some anger issues"
His eyebrows rested in confusion,as he acted like he was falling asleep
"BORING, yes I do have some anger issues, who wouldn't when your beloved husband likes to sleep with easy, young, slutty trash?"
He stared at me intensely as if warning me not to say anything out of line
"Isn't that how he you Luke?"
He gave a sarcastic grin as I ended the conversation, I didn't mean to be disrespectful towards Luke but from what I knew, Harry met Luke when Luke was only eighteen years old whereas Harry was thirty years old, only three months later they were married.
"Touche Detective but what you are failing to realize is that it's not me who killed him, yes I wanted that cheater dead but as you probably know already, someone beat me to the punch, maybe he owed them something"
He was nothing less that devilish in his ways of how he felt about his husband
"All the more reason why you would kill him apparently you owed Harry thousands of dollars in return for the start up of your company"
Harry had gave Luke thirty-five thousand dollars to begin his fashion company that became instantly popular when it hits stores
"There is no such thing as a loan from my husband, and what was his became mine from the moment we said I Do, and now that I'm thinking about it,I have a business to run so speed this up"
Luke was correct, but I had some information about him, that he'd have no response for
"That would be true but we found The divorce papers in Harry's jacket pocket, maybe that's why you were still "
His grin disappeared as my premonition came face to face with reality
"Harry would have a lot of nerve to divorce me when he had over twenty lovers, if he dared I would take him to court for Adultery"
This was much to my suprise,I knew of one of Harry's lovers but I was unaware of the rest, this cat and mouse game was growing tired so I decided to ask the basic question
"What happened the night Harry died?"
And now I seen the tears start to roll down Luke's face but it didn't take away from Luke being very suspicious
"We went to his childhood house, ate dinner, and Harry got a phone call and went into the bathroom, but I followed him to find out who he was talking to. When I went into the bathroom he hung up the phone quickly and I yelled at him for keeping things secret, he argued with me about why I was even worried, then the window busted open and I looked out of it when the killer pushed me back against the door and hit Harry in the head with a hammer, and Harry stood back in front of me to protect me and then I screamed and the guy hit Harry a few more times before disappearing out of the window"
Luke has hysterical by the time he finished talking stopping in between tears to breath
"How did both You and Howard end up bloody?"
His hysterical demeanor immediately transferred into anger while he answered the question
"Howard came in the window and seen Harry dead in my arms and carried me out of there, no matter how stupid they can be none of Harry's family would kill him, he was a cash cow, I think that one of his sluts killed him because they couldn't have him, he was a married man and he was playing them, they were pissed"
At this point Luke's devilish smirk was back on his face and sadness had evaporated in thin air
"Well you know what I think Luke, I think that Harry was going to leave you for one of his lovers and you picked up the hammer from Harry's Christmas gift toolbox and you bashed in his head and in the struggle you accidentally hit the window because I noticed that the hammer was missing from the present with his name on it and the glass from the window was outside on the grass"
His facial expression went blank after I revealed my theory of Harry's murder
"You know what I think Aaron,I think that someone but the glass in the grass at the crime scene, maybe the killer had a partner, maybe the killer's lover in the department, maybe the killer is you and you are very unsuspected because you're a detective, the perfect crime"
My mind was blown by the accusations Luke was making about me
"You have this wrong Luke"
He laughed a full-hearted laughed before rising out of the chair and walked towards the door
"Bye detective, you have a good life and don't forget Pictures can Speak volumes" His last words before leaving the room but other than that I went back to my desk to look through the evidence of both Cases of The Murder Of Ernest Rails. I was certainly going to find out who killed Ernest, but no matter if it was Detective Ash or not I was sure he was having a better night than me
