Shallow Winters pt. 2

Lapis was leaning against Peridot as they were watching crying breakfast friends.

Steven was sitting in front of them staring at the television.

Peridot: I will..... be right back!

Lapis Lazuli: P-Peri..?

Peridot: okay, I need to find something that looks nice for tonight... This?

She picked up a tux.

Peridot: NO NO NO!! I can find something better... it has to be formal though. A sweater??...... I'M WEARING A SWEATER RIGHT NOW, WHAT AM I DOING?!

Peridot scrambled through a pile of clothes in the closet and picked up a black button up shirt.

Peridot: Hm...... okay, fine. I think these leg garments I'm wearing are fine.... huh? Whats this object?

She picked up a green tie, just the color of her skin.

Peridot: PERFECT!

She stuck her head outside the closet door.

Peridot: L-Lapis, Steven.... can you.... go away or something?

Steven: Why...?

Peridot waved her arms.

Peridot: JUST, GO OUTSIDE OR... SOMETHING!

Lapis Lazuli: Okay! Jeez! Lets go Steven, before she becomes an animal, ha ha.

they scurried out the door, and right when they closed it, Peridot threw on the shirt, buttoned it up, and put on the tie, which was already tied for some reason.

She looked in the mirror.

Peridot: Hm... hmmm.... Yes... perfect.

She opened up her screen and texted Lapis.

Steven: Catch the ball, Lapis!!

Lapis Lazuli: Okay Okay! H-huh..?

Steven: What?

Lapis read the text.

Lapis Lazuli: 'go put something fancy on. U will kno y later'....?

Lapis Lazuli: Steven, I guess... I have to go put something nice on..

Steven: W-wait! Can't you do it right here with you're gem?!

Lapis Lazuli: yeah...!
Lapis spread her arms out and raised them to her head.

She floated off the ground.

A long dress laid down onto her like a silk blanket.

She drifted down to the ground, a navy blue mermaid fit dress with long sleeves covered her. There was a split down the side, too. And it had black sparkles on the chest and sleeves, fading towards the waist.

Steven: Whoa... You look so pretty!!

Lapis Lazuli: Thank You Steven...

She blushed and smiled.

Lapis Lazuli: She did tell me to dress fancy, haha!

Steven giggled.

Steven: Um... you should turn around...

Lapis Lazuli: Hm..?

Peridot was standing at the top of the stairs, expressionless, holding white calla lilies.

Peridot: L-Lapis-!

Lapis Lazuli: Peridot!

they rushed to each other.

They hugged tightly.

Lapis Lazuli: You look so cute.

Peridot: M-Me!?

Lapis laughed.

Lapis Lazuli: Y-Yeah!!

Peridot: Well....

Peridot examined Lapis.

Peridot: Well... You look..

She was lost in her words.

Lapis Lazuli: I look...?

Peridot: Enchanting.... Astounding...... Captivating....GORGEOUS!!!!

Lapis Lazuli: Oh, Peri.... thank you.

Peridot: Ha, I look like crap.

Lapis Lazuli: No! It's perfect.

Peridot: I-If you say so.

They blushed, holding hands.

Steven: I'm gonna... ah.... leave you two alone...

Peridot: Probably a good idea. 

Steven Left and winked at them both.

Peridot and Lapis laughed.

Lapis Lazuli: So.... Peridot... What did you want..?

Peridot blushed once more, took Lapis' hand, and walked behind some large rocks on the beach, hiding her cherry-red face.

She then took out her screen, and summoned a blanket, and two plates of salmon, and a candle, which she set in a candle holder with a plate for balance, and to catch the dripping wax.

Lapis Lazuli: P-Peri... you didn't have to do all this...

They sat down on the blanket, and ate a little before speaking again.

Peridot: It was the least I could do... considering you put that beautiful dress on.

Lapis Lazuli... Well... you now what, I'm glad you like it.

They continued eating.

Lapis Lazuli: Wow Peridot, for generated food I know you stole and put in your database, this is really good!

Peridot: Damn, I should've known you knew.

Lapis Lazuli: It's alright, I love that you did it anyway.

they laughed.

Lapis Lazuli: Peridot..? 

Peridot looked up startled from shaking.

Peridot: Y-yes?!

Lapis Lazuli: Do you... ever miss space since we have been down here for a couple of months..?

Peridot: The last time I missed it was right when we got here back in April, so... no. not really... why, have you.

Lapis Lazuli: Well, surprisingly, no... It's weird... I guess.... I just hated that cell..

Peridot: I didn't like seeing you in there... to be honest, It broke my heart.

They finished their food.

Lapis Lazuli: Aw, Peri... Don't worry about it. we are here now, enjoying this beautiful moonlight.... for some reason. Which brings me to ask, why are we here? Why did you do all of this?

That was the question Peridot didn't want to hear in the first place.

Peridot: S....Stand up Lapis.

They stood up.

Peridot opened her screen and made the things she set out disappear into pixels.

Lapis Lazuli: Peridot... whats going on?

Peridot: Lapis... I-I...
