The crowd watched silently.

It was like the earth had stopped turning. It was like time had stopped and stood still enough, for every Circe man and woman to process the fact that it had begun.
The war with the immortals was here, and apparently this was the signal to scream for mercy.

I kneeled on one knee next to the whimpering girl and her brother, who was holding her head in his lap.
I rest my hand on his shoulder for a moment, before whispering reassuringly.

"She's gonna be fine."

Cinna must have taken this as his cue because he was upon us in seconds ,
"SOMEONE TAKE THIS YOUNG MAN AND HIS SISTER TO THE HEALING DOME!"

Cinna's voice was magnified in the stiff silence. Just as quick a group of worried looking men helped the trembling pair to their feet and did as asked, cinna made sure that well armed guards were at either side of them before they left.

Once the scene was clear, the normal quietness had returned.
The commoners stared at me, they watched like terrified sheep amongst wolfs.

They knew danger was hear, they sensed it just like me.
I took this moment to help them keep calm.

"Everything's is okay, maintain order and allow the guards to escort you to the safe house. I shall let no harm come to my people!"
My words were soft, and drifted into the air like the warm scent of bake goods.

This would surely keep them from panicking.
The guards did as instructed .
I received a hard nod from each of them as they passed, leading the people to the safety of underground Circe. I returned this nod, giving them the familiar gaze with my eyes that meant to make absolutely no assumption's.

Soon the forest clearing was free of villagers and only a few guards to watch over me and Cinnadale.
Cinnadale seemed as if he couldn't meet my eyes. The two of us stood there, illuminated in the full moons white light.
Cinnas white blonde hair glistened under it like shining Peebles in a pure lake.
Neither of us said anything.
We were directly next to each other, our elbows almost touching.
Finally someone spoke up.

"You were right", I said quietly, "you were right to tell me to prepare Cinna."
Cinnadale looked up quickly, as if my words had startled him.

"T-that still doesn't make me right (name)! Predicting war shouldn't be praised in the least bit. I was always afraid that something like this would come creeping over our shoulder, and it did."

I hung my head low letting my eyes drift from his.
"If you hadent predicted it, we wouldent be prepared Cinna. That's good."

There was more silence, and suddenly his strong arms were around me. His head hurried in my shoulder.

"Promise me that you won't fall (name), Our people need you..I need you, princess."
His words were like a stake, they stuck deep into my heart and brought tears to my eyes.

"Don't talk like that, Cinna. Don't you ever talk like that. I'll never fall and I'll never leave you, cinnadale. I wouldn't be anything that I've learned to become without you. So just for you and the sake of my people, I promise not to perish."

There was silence. I was sure Cinna could hear the pain in my voice. It looked as if he were going to say something more, but a guard pulled us apart. He was tall and lean, and had his weapon drawn.

"A guard has spotted a stranger in section four of the patrol route...he looks to be immortal. The same boy who attacked you, princess. We're holding him in captivity."

Cinnadales eyes hardened at this

"Hide the princess away, " He said grimacing, "we mustn't let that horrifying creature anywhere near her."

The guard hesitated, me and Cinna both gave out orders that he had pledged by oath to follow.
He could tell by the look in my eyes that I didn't agree one bit with what Cinnadale had just said.

"You trained me to fight in war, Cinna. I will not cower amongst armored stone while my people quake in fear underground."

The guard went pale.
"Princess are you saying-"

"I've graduated haven't I? Im perfectly capable to fight by your noble side, dear guard. Now lead us to where this captive is being held!"

The guards worry was almost contagious as Cinnadale flashed him another look, but quickly he straitened up and lead us by lantern through the dark woods . Cinna had his battle Axe drawn, which quickly drove me to clutch the medium sized bag I was given and pull the beautiful daggers from it. Holding one in either hand.

I let the bag dange arounf my waist like a small belt.
Soon we reached our destination, a rather large cobble stone house that- according to the dim light in the window - was occupied by living inhabitants.

Slowly we reached the door step, and the guard held his fist against the wood in order to knock a certain pattern.
A code.

The door opened as soon as this secret knock sounded and inside the house was a casual warm looking living room.
A bright fire burned quietly.
A few of my guards sat in the lawn chairs, they stood quickly once I arrived.

"Princess ,what are you-"

"Thank you for catching the immortal before he could bring harm...I'd like to see him now."
Cinnadales face grew a bright shade of something unintelligible, and his mouth opened as if he were going to say something.

"Alone," I added.

To this he did speak
"I'm waiting outside the door then."

*******************************************
One of the guards named Harold lead us to where the immortal was being kept.
It was a small, wooden door in a dark hallway.
I quickly opened it and stepped inside before cinna, or the guard could change their minds.

The room was dark inside but the moonlight illuminated enough for me to see him.
The vampire was hog tied and sitting crouched in a red chair. His raven hair hung in his eyes. It was indeed the boy whom I'd had the brief encounter with.

"So, you've returned?"
His voice was soft and his red eyes stared at me gently yet fearfully.

"I came to warn you."

"That you and your people were coming to feast on us once and for all?"

"NO, I'm sure you smelled those hunters. Look, I haven't been chased by one of them in years. I live far out in Aaa . I visit the grasslands from time to time. Chill in the Nightospere or in my cave -um house, but I know them well enough to completely understand why they were heading north. They're having trouble hunting vampires so they scavenge for the only place they know werewolves hang out twenty four seven, the city of Circe, which is why I'm here."

I let his words sink in .Could I believe him?
Of course the hunters were here, but had he really come to warn us?
I asked the question I knew would arouse fear in each of our chest.

"Do you remember the threat I made the first time we met? I told you that you would be executed if you ever returned. Yet, I'm Starting to believe that your intentions are pure. In order to be fully relieved, I must ask you this.... are you an Abader?"

There was harsh silence, and I knew it before the words even left his lips. It was like a gun to the stomach.
The war.
The prophecy.
The Abaders.
