Winter's P.O.V

I rang the doorbell and waited at Hayden's doorstep.

While waiting, I was still processing the news that Anonymous had asked me to be his girlfriend and I agreed.

Was I being stupid? I mean, I haven't seen him in person and he could be Hubert trying to win me over again for all I know.

Even though he said he wasn't.

Although, I couldn't help but admit that I was hopelessly in love with this stranger. There's just something about him that makes my heart race and whenever he calls me babe or baby I just..

Argh.

"Winter!"

I snapped out of my daze and looked up at Hayden.

"Hey, happy Birthday!" I passed him his gift, which was a band t-shirt of his favourite band, Fall Out Boy.

"Thanks." He said, grinning. "You look nice today."

I laughed as he complimented me. I was just wearing a more girly shirt than usual and white skinny jeans along with my Vans for Hayden's birthday party.

"Really? It's nothing much, now take Dania for instance.."

Dania had talked to me on the phone and told me that she was going to wear a dress for this event. I told her that it was just going to be us and the guys so she didn't have to bother looking all dressed up. But despite saying that, I knew she wanted to look nice for Hayden as she had the biggest crush on him and had wanted to tell him today.

Hayden chuckled as he invited me in. Dania was already sitting on the sofa and there was an empty seat beside her. I had to choose between sitting next to her and ruin her chances of talking to Hayden or sit in between Karter and Taylor and deal with them burping in my face.

I chose to be a better friend.

"Hey." I greeted Taylor and Karter. Thankfully, Karter moved to the middle and I had the side seat.

"Hello there. Looks like Miss Adams had dressed up for this event." Karter commented.

I rolled my eyes but let a smile slip. "Yes, I couldn't just come here in my pyjamas could I?"

He let out a laugh. "Yeah. Nice seeing you in different colours though. I was sure your wardrobe consisted of only black clothes."

"Well I'm wearing pink, so ha."

Karter just laughed.

Hayden's party was going quite well. It wasn't one of those stereotypical teenage parties, it was just fruit punch, some delicious pizza and some candies. Oh and the birthday cake which was delicious.

Karter was in the middle of interrogating me about my 'stalker' as Dania had told him that I was well.. not single anymore when Hayden asked to talk with me privately.

"What's up?"

"I was just wondering if what Dania said was true?"

I felt my cheeks heat up as I replied him. "Yeah."

"Oh." Hayden was scratching his neck uncomfortably and avoiding eye contact.

"Is there anything wrong with it?"

He sighed. "Well for me. I might have developed some feelings for you, Winter."

My eyes widened at his confession. So that unknown person who was texting me was right!

But what about Dania? And what do I do? Hayden is my best friend after all.

"Oh."

Oh. Really?

"Yeah. I'm sorry I didn't know about this until today. I shouldn't have told told you about this."

"Look it's okay. We're still friends, Hayden. But I don't think I'm the one for you, okay? There are a lot more better girls out there for you."

"But thanks Winter, I just.. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have gotten over Dania."

It was bad timing but I laughed.

"What's wrong?"

"Dania might have a crush on you."

Now it was his turn to widen his eyes. "Really?"

"Maybe. Ask her."

"I'll try. Hey, if your boyfriend hurts you or anything, I'm here for you okay? And maybe you would think about liking me." He wiggled his eyebrows at me and I couldn't help but laugh.

"Thanks Hayden. You're the best."
