The wedding was to take place in three months on a Saturday in August. Ned was still in college, finishing up getting his degree to become a lawyer, like my Father. Luckily, he went to a college located in River Heights, so he never had to travel far and I could see him often.
I worked for the Justice Department, where the Hardy Boys had recommended me. I had been thrilled to receive the letter and now traveled all over the world undercover to solve cases, do backup checks, and was even involved in some important government matters. Although sometimes, I still liked to just solve a few side cases for my own fun, like the one about Mrs. Gate's jewelry that I had solved before Ned proposed to me.
Ned didn't enjoy me traveling all the time, but we still saw each other whenever I was home.
In the meantime, Bess was already asking me when we were going to go dress shopping.
