I followed Trevor around campus to the party's location. Every now and then sniffling and wiping my eyes. But i wasn't crying, it only felt like I was.

"And here we are." Trevor said.

He smiled at me. How could i be upset around him, you ask. I don't even know, myself.

People were already here, dancing and drinking. I felt a faint blush from the memory of it.

Trevor separated away from me a couple minutes into the party to talk to one of his friends.
I didn't expect more anyway. I'm surprised he stayed as long as he did since i wasn't speaking.

The partying increased with me on the sidelines sipping, little by little, a drink.

Surrounded by the crowd i realised how alone i am. My throat ached again and my eyes stung.

No no no please don't cry in front of these people.

I tear slowly trailed down my cheek.

"Hey, youre bumming the party."

I looked up it see who said it.

"Johnathan?"

It was the dude who was playing on my Xbox that one day with Dylan and Kyle.

"Stop acting like that. Youre ruining the party."

"When you were at the dorm you said two words, and now youre telling me I'm a bum?" I say

He looked away, his stubble made his chin look more defined and chiseled. He was handsome. He had a long sleeve v-neck gray shirt and jeans, and something that makes all girls melt.

A beanie.

"Yeah well, i came here to party and youre ruining that."

"I'm sorry. Didn't mean to ruin your partying."

He sighed, "Just come here."

And he walked away expecting me to follow him. I caught up and walked to his side.

He didn't look at me as he led me away from the party.

"Where are we going?" I ask, trying to keep up with his long strides.

"A place. A place i always go. A place that no one knows about." He said and tugged his beanie.

I didn't reply. I had nothing to say.

Jonathan lead me to an old building. It was nasty and broken down, it was just unused.

He kicked open the door and paused to hold it open for me.

I hesitated.

He nodded towards the inside, "Come on."

I stepped past him into the dark, musty smelling lobby room.

He disappeared from my side and the lights flashed on. I blinked my eyes.

"What is this place."

"The old deans office. They stopped using it when they built the new dorms with the deans offices inside them." He walked over to the stairs and began to climb them.

He sat down on one.

"My mom was the dean."

I cleared my throat, "...was?"

"She died awhile back. While i was still in the elementary campus." He avoided my eyes and rested his elbows on his knees.

I went up the stairs and settled down next to him.

"How did she die?"

"Cancer."

"Oh." I say.

That's terrible.

"I could tell something was wrong with you when i first met you. So go on, spit it out, I've told my sob story so now its your turn."

"What?" I asked, surprised by the suddenness.

"Somethings..." he motioned his hands," wrong with you."

"Whats that supposed to mean?"

"Stop, Blondie, you know what I'm talking about."

I shut my mouth.

Because i did. I did know what he was talking about.

I looked down at my hands and fiddle with my fingernails.

"When i was younger, my step dad used to beat me. He hated me-still does, to this day." I pulled up my sleeve and showed a scar running from my wrist to my elbo,"this was from him pushing me. I caught myself on the water heater."

I pulled my sleeve down.

"I have more, but it'd be awhile before i would finish."

He put a hand on my shoulder.

"I know there's more to this."

I gulped. He was good.

"I have nightmares, too. Not about him, but its kinda like them. A-" i stopped myself from telling him Alec slept with me a couple times and the nightmares went away. "They went away for awhile, but i have a feeling they're about to start coming back."

He had been staring at me for awhile, and now was the time i realised it.

I felt my cheeks redden.

"Well, one thing i know."

"And whats that?"

"You need some reinforcements." He said and winked.
