Cartwheel...Tumble....Backflip....Side Ariel...land. "Good Hart take a seat." coach said patting Maya on the back as she jogged to the bench. "That was amazing." Riley,Maya's best friend, boasted

"No I was weak on my ariel I totally landed wrong on the-" Maya was cut off by Riley frantically hitting her arm
"Ow what?" Maya said snatching he arm away from her friend

"Look it's the hot new football quarterback from Texas!" Riley gushed as my rolled her eyes
"Looks more like a cowboy to me." Maya scoffed as her friend gawked over the boy who ran onto the field

"Besides its totally cliché for a cheerleader to date a football player." Maya added
"Whatever I think he's hot." Riley smiled

Walking into the locker room Maya wiped away sweat she shakes off her uniform and washed up. Quicky she pulled on a sweater and jeans and pulled her hair into a messy low ponytail.

She glance down at her watch and started to run to her next class noticing she's late.
She run past people shoving her way through the crowd she was almost to her class when someone slammed into her knocking everything out of her hands and hitting the ground with a thud.

"Hey watch it!" Maya snapped standing to her feet livid at the person who just knocked her over
"I'm so sorry." The person said extending their hand to her which she reluctantly took helping her up.

When she finally focused her eyes she saw the new boy the one Riley had been talking about during practice. She noticed how attractive he was right off his chestnut brown hair and sea blue eyes and that scared her because she never payed that much attention to a boy like that.

"Here." He said handing her the books she had dropped
"Um thanks." Maya muttered they stood in an awkward silence until he spoke up
"Lucas." He said extending his hand again for her to shake

"Ah the cowboy." She smirked
He dropped his hand and raised an eyebrow at her,"Cowboy?" He asked
"Yeah you just moved here from Texas right?" She asked

"Yeah so?" He questioned
"So that makes you a cowboy." She said smirking once again
"That's just a cruel stereotype." He remarked," plus if I'm a cowboy I would call you mam." He added

"Please we all know your a cowboy." She teased
"Just like your a city slicker?" He retorted
"Now that's a cruel stereotype." She pointed out

They both laughed for a moment and she noticed the halls had cleared and the final bell rang which meant all the teachers had locked their classroom doors and she was now counted absent.

"Crap!" She spat to no one in particular
"What?" he said
"Final bell means we are locked out of class you made me late crap it hop-along!" She raged

"Hey now don't get mad at me id I do remember correctly your the one that ran into me then stared at me all weird." He huffed
"Whatever cowboy I have to go." Maya said rolling her eyes as she sprinted off

"Wait what's your name? Where are you going?" He asked calling after her but it was to late she was already out of the building
