Maya knew the double date would be weird and boy was she right. Lucas only looked at her the whole night even when Farkle,who sat across from them in the booth with Riley, asked him questions this was to avoid making any type of eye contact with her.

Then Riley found any little excuse to slip away. 'Oh there's an invisible speck of dirt of the table let me go get napkins to wipe the invisible speck away.'

It was super awkward. The whole night Maya studied how the two acted.
She was so thankful when the night was over and Lucas grabbed her hand and got on the subway with her to take her home.

As much as she wanted to find out what was going on she loved the time she spent with Lucas. When they reached her apartment he walked her inside and they stood smiling.

"So Maya there's something I wanted to tell you." Lucas said nervously holding her hand
She was so worried but she had to say it she wanted to know what was going on.

"Does it have something to do with you and Riley acting so weird around each other?" Maya asked reasoning an eyebrow Lucas was confused,"um yeah-wait no...what?" He asked

"You and Riley the lack of eye contact the leaving the table at the tiniest excuse." She added
"I really don't know what you talking about!" Lucas said getting angry
"Yes you do just talk to me Huckleberry!" My yelled

"Maya!" He said
"Lucas!" She huffed
"Lucas just tell me what the crap-"
"Riley and I kissed ok is that what you wanted to hear!" He yelled

Maya was so shocked she took two steps back. "Maya-" Lucas stated trying to grab her hand
"No you stay away from me!" Maya said her eyes full of hurt

"Maya I mean we are not even together." Lucas said
"And that makes it ok for you to kiss my best friend when you know I have feelings for you?" She asked cringing at her words

"Maya Riley means nothing to me." He assured
"Oh that makes it even better you just going around kissing people that mean nothing to you." She spat turning her back to him

"Maya that's not what I meant." He said placing his hand on her shoulder
"Don't touch me." She scoffed jerking away from him

"Maya please." He said grabbing her by the shoulder and turning her around
"No get out of my house!" She spat
"Maya please." Lucas said getting angry but trying to calm himself down in the process

"No leave my house I...I can't even look at you!" She raged
"But I like you a lot!" He assured
"Yeah you like me so much you kissed my best friend!" She said angrily letting tears slip out of her eyes

"No Maya I like you so much I was going to am give you this!" He said digging in his bag a throwing his leather man's jacket at her feet
"Lucas." She half whispered picking it up

"Riley she means nothing to me I mean she's a great friend but it was a mistake a big mistake because I like you and take kids should have been for you." He says inching closer but Maya took a few steps back

"I...I need time to think about this Lucas because wearing you jacket means two things 1.) that i forgive you which I'm not sure I do get and 2.) I'll be your girlfriend and I don't know if I'm ready for that." She sighed placing the jacket in his hands

"Just give me time." She says
"I'm not giving up I'll wait for you...as long as it takes." He says bluntly before leaving and Maya didn't know weather to smile or cry.
