"I will keep quiet

You won't even know I here

You won't suspect a thing

You won't see me in the mirror

But I crept into you heart

You can't make me disappear

Until I make you." -The Devil Within, Digital Daggers

I stood in front of a magnificent gate, over grown by the plants who wanted to take to climbing. Beyond it laid the mansion Zalia had heard our father talk about. It looked like a washed out painting, dull and lifeless with chipped paint and the front yard that had taken to life and became a jungle.

The taxi driver had left us only a minute before after driving us a miles away from the French Quarter. Ryker used his reputation as a detective in Haraldsville to get excess to the mansion, saying that he had found Grant Bowing's heirs. Grant Bowing was a...pen name of sorts for my father, I had come to find out.

Dane let out a sigh, then walking towards the gate, he slipped through the bars easily. He grinned at all of us, "See you guys inside!" He took off towards the mansion, not stopping to look back at us that.

Zal rubbed her hands together, blowing on them as they glowed like hot coals. She placed her hands on the locked gates, melting off the steel, making a narrow way for us to get through. She stepped through the small opening she made for us, "That brat better not touch anything." She mumbled before taking off in the same direction as Dane had.

I glanced over towards Elena who felt my gaze on her and turned her head up to me, a small smile one her lips, "Let's get you back home, Superman." We have been on better terms since our heart to heart, but we haven't dared cross the line of friendship, which disappointed me, but I'm willing to give her the space she needs. She followed Zal while Ryker and I lagged behind.

"You're still not twenty-one yet." Ryker stuck his hands in his jacket pockets as a gust of cool wind passed by, his green eyes trained on the house before us.

"I know. I can handle-" I started to say, but Ryker shook his head, "No, Kai, you can't "handle" them all. The gods will act like they love you, they will pretend to go along, but the second you come in the way of them and power, they will toss you aside. Your people care for nothing besides power. It's just their nature. You will get hurt."

I let out of soft breath, thinking about another alternative. I can't stay here any longer. Erebus will kill me, and I'm the oldest heir of Chaos. I'm the only one who can take my dad's place...

"Mom can." I mumbled, trying to think of how we can get a woman who believes that she is mortal, who doesn't remember a thing of her life before can take up the responsibilities of a Queen. I could help her, of course, but even then I don't know what to do. I was ten when my dad died and have been hoping that my mom could help me when the time came.

Ryker shook his head, "No, she can't. She's been though a lot-"

I narrowed my eyes at the demigod before me, "What do you mean?"
