Fought between russia and germany
150000 german soldiers
230000 russian soldiers
Despite the numerical advantage germany won the battle pushing russia out of west poland
This would be the first of many embarrassing defeats for russia
The russian army had mobilized the most soldiers of the allied powers at 12 million
And since the germans were fighting a two front war it would mean that they had to split up there forces and soo on the eastern front (against the russians) there were only 6 million germans russia had twice as many
Soldiers but was technologically inferior (they were still using guns from the 1870s)
