Russia was the second poorest country in europe(outside of the balkans)
The only only one poorer was italy
Many russians lived in farms and ranches
And were suffering because of the war with the lack of food and water
A russian revolutionary named
Vladimir lenin
Seized his chance
And kicked out the king of russia
He changed the name of the country from
"Russia" to the "soviet union"
He decided to meet with the central powers and end the war for russia
He knew he had give up some land
Soo alot of places got independence
Most notably
Finland
Ukraine
The baltics
And georgia
Although these were german puppet states(except finland)
Russia surrendered at November 7th 1917
