Chapter 1- I didn't think my family legends were real

Chapter 1

 

We were walking down the road till we came to a rancher looking house with vines and flowers all over it

‘One thing about Emily don’t stare, Sam doesn’t like it’ he said walking up the steps.

I followed into the house to find a load of guys that looked like Jacob; shirtless. I was kind of hiding behind Jacob when we entered the house

‘You guys I want you to meet Kora Roberts, she just moved here’ Jacob said

‘It’s so nice to meet you I’m Emily and this is Sam’ she said and I could see pink lines going down the one side of her face but I just ignored it

‘It’s nice to meet you’ I said hugging Emily

‘These guys here are Paul, Embry, Quil, Seth, Jared, and Leah’ he said pointing to each person at the table.

We all started to chat and I grabbed a muffin off of Paul’s plate

‘Hey don’t steal my food unless you give me something in return’ he said winking

‘Yeah you’re not my type hun’ I said patting his head which made the boys all boo at Paul

‘So Jacob imprinted on you’ Embry joked.

I thought about what he meant by it and didn’t think I heard him right but people started smacking him and everything

‘What do you mean…imprint…like love at f-first sight thing’ I said with bewildered eyes

‘Wait you know what it is’ Quil asked looking puzzled

‘Yeah my dad is Mi’kmaq and I’m 25% because he’s half. He told me stories that involved imprinting’ I said slowly

‘So your native that’s sweet’ Seth said.

I looked at Jacob but he was gone and Sam was also. I started thinking about things and it totally dawned on my since Jacob was so warm like overly warm.

‘Can I ask you guys something’ I said leaning on the wall

‘Shoot’ they said together

‘Are you guys a pack of wolves’ I said bluntly.

They all looked at each other and started mumbling

‘How did you figure it out’ Sam said walking in

‘Well you build, you body temperature and your tattoo’ I said checking off on my fingers.

They all started talking and looking at me in amazement.

‘Are you from a tribe’ Seth asked me

‘Well my nation is fromNew Brunswickarea and I didn’t grow up there but I don’t know much except legends and stories’ I said taking half the seat beside Embry

‘Do you change into something like a wolf’ Sam asked beside Emily

‘Well my dad once told me our people change by how you act and that sort of stuff. He said I could either be a wolf, deer, eagle, or bear it depends on what spirit animal takes to me the most. But I didn’t believe it till now’ I said frustrated

‘When you change you can join our pack’ Embry said nudging me.

‘So I’m imprinted to Jacob’ I asked looking at Jacob
