Chapter 18: Change

Hannie's POV

I slowly opened my eyes when I felt something heavy on my tummy. I looked at the bedside table where the clock was. Hmm it's still early, 6:30am.

"Hmm.." napalingon ako agad sa gilid ko.

Makulet na naman ba ako natulog kagabi?? Pasimple akong umurong sa gilid ko ng kama.

"Hmmm!!" Halos manigas na ako sa pwesto ko. He hugged me tighter. I'm still not used to waking up like this! Magulo pa din ba ako matulog??

Good thing it's Saturday. Tulugan ko nalang itong pangyayaring ito. Galit pa din ako sakanya dahil sa kahapon.

Sinagot ko agad cellphone ko.

"Hello?"

(Nie!!)

"Yo, Lia. Why?"

(Girl, you just woke up no?)

I stretched my arms. "Yeah... Napatawag ka? It's still 8 in the morning."

(Wala lang. Just wanted to ask what's up with you and Xander)

"Nothing new Lia. After what happened yesterday, it's very obvious that we still won't be talking to each other."

(You guys suck. Ikakasal na nga kayo puro pa kayo away.)

"You make it sound like we do want to get married. It's all arranged remember?"

(You just don't remember)

"Come again?"

(Nothing. I'm hanging up! The Crepes are done.)

"Wahh?!! I want one!!"

(Make one)

Then she hung up on me. Bullocks! She makes the best Crepes and now I won't be able to eat one!

I glanced to my left and found no human beside me but an adorable Siberian husky puppy sleeping

"Ahh!!!"

"Ano nangyari?!" Mabilis na lumabas si Xander sa banyo. Wow, he was fast.

"A puppy!!" I screamed. I was about to carry the puppy while it was sleeping but it suddenly ran towards Xander. I pouted.

"Cute ain't he?" He said smiling while carrying the puppy. The puppy looked so cu-u-ute! Dagdag points din kay Xander kasi super cool niya tignan habang hawak niya 'yong puppy. Hephep erase galit ako sakanya, wag puriin Hannie!

"Yes!" I smiled with stars on my eyes.. He was about to give me the puppy but it held on to Xander even more. I pouted once more, doesn't the puppy like me?

"I think he doesn't like you."

"Bakit naman!!"

"Because we're in a war right now?" he said then smirked.

"Sinusuhol mo ba ako para magkaayos tayo? Well no thanks. I don't need a puppy para magbati tayo. What I need is, you to change your attitude. I'm getting so pissed with your attitude Xander."

His mouth formed into a thin line and answered, "That's what I'm doing right now Hannie."

"How? Wala kong nakikita." Ghad from good mood to bad mood! I hate this feeling! Nakakainis kasi siya e binalik bigla ang inis na naramamdaman ko sakanya.

"This is it. I want to start with giving you a gift as a peace treaty. That's what a normal guy would do right?"

"Where's the gift?" I love gifts!

"Tss. Stupid."

"Excuse me?!"

"Sorry sorry. Here's your gift." Then he showed me the adorable puppy once again.

"Natauhan na ako Hannie. I want to change. I want to change as you said. I'm sorry Hannie for how I acted. I'm really sorry." He added.

My jaw dropped. Change? He wants to change because of what I said? Am I still dreaming?! Who is this guy infront of me.

I crawled down the bed and stood up to poke imaginary Xander's cheek.

"Who the heck are you and what did you do to Xander? Am I dreaming? If I am well it's a nice dream!"

He snatched my hand and gently gripped it. "It's me Hannie. I'm real. Forgive me please? I'm willing to change," he said in a very serious way while looking straight at me.

Nanlaki ang mata ko at agad agad ko binawi ang aking kamay. I felt my heart beat a thousand times faster as usual.

"F-fine." And in an instant the puppy jumped to me and licked my face.

"Thank you!" then he hugged me trapping the puppy between us. I felt like I was being electrocuted!

"X-xander.."

"Ay sorry." He let go of me. "Hmm this change thing, can you help me?"

"U-uh sure.."

"What pushed you into changing?"

"You."

Halos mabilaukan ako sa sagot niya.

"You made me realize Hannie. You made me realize how big of a jerk I am. Sorry talaga sa panlalait sayo. Kalait lait ka kasi." Sabay tawa niya. Pinalo ko agad siya.

"I thought you're going to change!"

"I am! Ahaha. Ito na nga diba? I'm having a conversation with a G-I-R-L. I'm laughing because of a GIRL." He laughed once more. I hope I always see him laugh. His laugh is so soothing and genuine.

"Whatever." Inirapan ko siya.

"So what are you going to name him?"

"Xander."

"Bakit naman?" he smirked.

"Hayop kasi."

"Ouch Hannie. Nagpapakabait na nga ako ee."

"Can you stop calling me Hannie? Everyone calls me Nie."

"How about Ryo? Why does he call you Nie-Nie. It sounds gay."

"Pauso niya 'yon. Pabayaan mo na."

"If he calls you Nie-NIe then I'll call you Han." Napatigil ako, that name.. It sounds so.. Familiar in his way of saying it..

"Urgh other than that." I shrugged.

"Nah I like Han." inirapan ko siya. The way he says it sounds like Hon rather than Han.

He smiled as an answer. Urghh I don't like whatever he is thinking.

"Name him!"

"Okay okay? Chill!"

"Ano na?"

"Wala ako maisip."

"Tss. HEX?"

"Uh why HEX?" naguguluhang tanong ko. It sounds so Illum.

"Wala lang." Then he smiled very similar to those who are keeping something.

"Uhh. Whatever Xander. So, ano na gagawin mo sa 'pagbabago' mo?"

"It's up to you. Tell me what to do then I'll do it."

"Willing nga."

"Of course. Thanks to you."

"By the way, It's HEX because of the combination Hannie End Xander," pahabol niya.
