* Second Poem of Mockingjay Set Poem Trilogy *

I stay huddled in the cell corner, desperately wishing I can be with her.

Yet I can't

My tired eyes still stay open, thinking she'll walk right in to take me away.

Yet she hasn't

I silently beg, wanting her gentle touch will soon wash away the pain.

Yet she hasn't

I cry, hoping she will show me that she's alive.

Yet she hasn't

I pull at my hair, wishing it was her hands that were tangled instead of mine.

Yet they aren't

I scream her name, pleading for her to come get me.

Yet she can't hear

I shriek as I wake from nightmares, believing she is by my side in the dark.

Yet she isn't

I lose my mind, slowly and slowly as the separation period doesn't end.

Yet she is too

We can't be together,

And we probably won't be ever again.
