Soak Up the sun

I woke up late. It was a pleasant Sunday morning. I dressed up in a pair of casual denim shorts and a black tee with 5SOS symbol. It was my favorite tee.

I had a beach date with my boyfriend Aakash Rathore.

"You ready? He is already here."
I heard my aunt.

"Yes" I grabbed a granola bar and made my way to greet him.

"Hey" I said kissing his cheek.

I didn't want to kiss him in front of my aunt.

"Hey sweetheart...You need to get rid of these" he said pointing towards my tee.

We first met in Canada. His dad was a family friend. We became friends and friendship turned to liking. He was a nice guy. But off lately he had been acting weird.
All dominant and possessive.

We sat in his car. I switched the channel on radio to 5SOS amnesia.

"Oh please get rid of them for God's sake!"

He said switching the channel. He didn't like 5SOS.

He drove us to a nearby beach.

"Why don't you try taking that t shirt off...I need to have a look" he said smirking.

"This ain't funny"

I got up and walked away.

I felt disgusted.

I didn't even knew why I was with him anymore.

Suddenly I heard a lot of hustle and bustle.

People began crowding. Someone was screaming for a selfie.

Probably some celeb dropped over to soak up the sun.

But I heard a girl screaming and crying in water.

"Help me! It's hurting!"

A girl merely 10 was screaming and she stumbled and fell into water.

"A shark! Get outta there"

There was screaming everywhere now. People rushing out of water. But no one came to the child's rescue.

Without thinking I ran towards the water to save the girl. I didn't care about myself. I couldn't let anything happen to that girl.

I grabbed the girl and pulled her into my arms. There wasn't any shark.

"You okay?"

I asked carrying her out of the water in my arms.

"It's burning! It's hurting!"

The girl was crying uncontrollably.

I settled her on the sand.

"Don't move. Don't touch the affected area. I'll be back"

I said to the girl and crowd around us.

I ran over to the a Chinese stall on the beach.

"I need a bottle of vinegar!"

I said breathless.

I grabbed the bottle and ran back to the girl.

"It will stop the pain. Trust me"

I said to the girl.

I poured vinegar over her legs.

It instantly highlighted the red marks on her leg.

A jellyfish sting as I had contemplated. I took of my tee to wrap on her leg.

The girl stopped crying as the pain ceased.

The ambulance arrived and carried her away.

I then realised even I had a sting and my arm that was hurting.

I poured vinegar over it and carefully removed the stings using a credit card.

"What did you get after saving the world?"

I heard Aakash's voice from behind me.

"Happiness. Self satisfaction... It's your habit to weigh things in terms of profit and loss not mine" I retorted.

"Okay fine baby as you wish... You look hot in this black bikini." He said eyeing me.

It then hit me I wasn't wearing my tee.

"Please can I have your shirt..." I requested him.

"Why do you want to hide your smoking hot bod"

"I just don't want sex maniacs oogling at me"

I felt like crying. I looked bitterly at the diamond platinum band sitting heavily on my ring finger.

It was a promise ring give to me by Aakash.

I walked over to the same Chinese stall.

"How much for the vinegar bottle?" I asked.

"It's okay. Somebody already paid on your behalf"

"Who?"

"He went that way." He said pointing.

I walked in that direction.

A child walked over to me.

"For you" he said handing me a red shirt.

"Who gave it to you?" I said accepting it.

He pointed towards a black Mercedes.

Before I could reach it was gone.

I dreamt about the person who had handed me his shirt and wished that Aakash could be someone like him.

I imagined him someone like Luke with sky blue eyes and blond hair made up in spikes.

I smiled thinking how free I felt in my dreamland.

Luke Hemmings wouldn't fall for a non entity like me, let alone if I ever met him.
