Doomed world

Our world is doomed

With contradictions

If we don't do something,

I hate my grim predictions.

Attention spans are growing shorter,

Everything else is growing longer.

We keep getting told we are growing weaker,

Yet we're really growing stronger.

Girls are told to be thinner,

Then are told they are too thin.

We are told we need to change our lives,

But we are never told exactly when.

Global warming on the rise,

Colder days move on in.

So concerned about getting hotter,

No concern about getting frozen.

Reality becomes blurred,

Thinking a movie is real life,

Thinking everything thing's a fairytale,

Rather than the real strife.

Then we are told we're in trouble.

That our generation is to blame.

But I think the real reason

Comes by another name.

We are a generation

Lost to technology.

Told that we're stupid

It's not rocket technology.

We are a generation

Filled with lies.

No wonder we can't see the truth

In front of our own eyes.

We try to tell what we know,

Only to be bashed down each time.

Everyone acts like we, by speaking our minds,

Are guilty of committing a crime.

They wonder why nothing works,

But won't listen to the ones who know best.

They want to believe we are below them,

Just like all the rest.

Yet if they would listen,

Just get down off the high horse,

They would find we know more,

And probably feel remorse.
