Chapter 18: Now the nightmare's real

I laid my head on Anti's shoulder sleepily as we watched 'Blue Exorcist' together in my bed. He smirked and wrapped his arm around me protectively. He had seemed a little jumpy and VERY overprotective of me after I told him about seeing someone watching me
"Anti?" I asked
"Yeah sweetheart?" He replied
"That guy I saw earlier..." I started. Anti stiffened next to me
"What about him?" Anti asked nervously
"Why couldn't you see him?" I asked
"Probably because I had the world-switcher on" Anti said looking at the thing
"So he was on the other side?" I asked
"I guess. That's the only reasonable explanation for it" Anti said nervously. Something was obviously bothering him. I snuggled closer to him and sighed contentedly. He played with my hair gently and kissed my forehead "Get some sleep love"
I nodded and started to close my eyes before a sudden crash came from downstairs. Anti froze
"Y/N stay here" he said nervous
Anti got up and put on a shirt (Anti sleeps in his boxers FYI) and went downstairs. I followed
"Go back to bed" Anti said sternly. I shook my head
"Y/N I'm serious. Go back to bed. I'll be there in a moment" Anti ordered
I shook my head again "Anti I am not leaving you"
He sighed still giving me a glare "Alright but be careful. I have no idea what we're going to find"
We went down to the living room. Anti took off the world-switcher and gave it to me "Put this on and do exactly as I say"
I did so "Anti...who's down here?"
He kissed me before moving forward, holding my hand tightly. He put his finger to his lips to motion for me to be quiet. He crept out into the living room
"Well hello Anti" a funny sounding voice said
"W-Wilford!?" Anti stammered "What're you doing here!?"
"Coming to take back what is rightfully mine. You're already aware that I talked with Dark so you should know what I expect to have back" Wilford said
I trembled in fear. Was Anti going to...die?
"I don't have it Wilford" Anti said firmly
Wilford growled "Then who does? I saw you in that infernal place they call a school with that girl. You had the artifact around your neck for everyone to see"
"You...You were watching her!?" Anti said suddenly angry
"I was watching you. She was right next to you. I assume you two are involved?" Wilford asked
"We're in a relationship, AND I'm her protector"
"You? A protector?" Wilford said before laughing. I had enough
"Yeah and he's a damn good one too, ya bastard" I said walking out by Anti and folding my arms
"Y/N I told you to stay back there!" Anti hissed with a glare
"No let the girl talk" Wilford said with an evil smirk
I glared at him before kissing Anti and stomping off. I sat in the other room with my arms folded and glaring at the doorway to the other room. Why was Anti being such a jerk? I get that he was protecting me but he's not letting me help him at all! I wanted my funny and happy boyfriend back
"Y/N?" Dark shuffled downstairs "Where's Anti?"
"In the other room" I replied with a breaking voice
"What's wrong?" Dark asked sitting next to me
I explained the past few minutes while crying into Dark's shoulder
"Y/N I'm gonna check on them" Dark said after giving me a long hug. He went into the other room leaving me with my thoughts
Fuck it, I decided, Anti's gonna need me even if he doesn't realize it right now
I walked calmly into the other room and stood by Anti. He looked at me and I refused to meet his gaze
"Is someone grumpy?" He teased
I ignored him but said harshly "My feelings may have been hurt by your ignorance to see I am not helpless and I want to help you"
Dark whistled, impressed by my sudden outburst. I nodded at them to continue talking
"Anti she's actually smart, I'm impressed" Wilford chuckled
"Not now Wilford! Y/N what did I do!?" Anti asked. I glared at him
"Warfstache for your information I'm not only smart but I could kick your ass in a second. Leave us alone" I threatened shakily and still ignoring Anti
"Tough words for such a little girl" Wilford scoffed
"See Anti? I can do some things by myself" I said not looking at Anti
"Wilford you promised us 3 days! It's been one!" Dark protested
"Fine. I want your decision by tomorrow night" Wilford said curtly
He walked over to me. I glared at him and he just smiled back
"I'll be back soon" he said before disappearing
"Y/N I told you to stay in the other room so you'd be safe!" Anti protested
"I'm not JackGlitch! I'm not 5! I can fight for myself!" I said
"Maybe I should just go then if you don't need a protector!" Anti growled
"Don't go Anti!"
"Well if you can fight for yourself you don't need me anymore!"
"Oh so what about being my boyfriend then? I'm just trying to say, I'm not helpless!" I explained
"I'm being protective cos I care about you!" Anti said
We locked eyes. His showed fire and rage, mine were filled with concern and fear. I turned away first and ran upstairs trying not to cry. The moment I hit my bed, I sobbed into my pillow. I ended up crying myself to sleep
*Dark POV*
I slapped Anti
"Dark what the hell!?" He asked rubbing his cheek
"All Y/N wanted to do was protect you!" I said "You just pushed her away! I understand you want to protect her but Anti give her SOME freedom and let her protect you for once!"
I stomped off to my bed without another word to Anti
*Anti POV*
