" now how often are you in this city?" Asked the chief

" I'm off for the next two months sir" I said

" so every day sometime before noon I need you to report that your on duty and your quitting time in midnight" said the chief

" if I may what if I hear something in the middle of the night" I said

" you do as if you were on duty detain the person, call the station, say yourself as officer Skylar and an officer will be there" said the chief
