Over used term.

I find that the word "emo" seems to be over used a lot recently. A lot of my friends have become "emo" and I just don't understand. Because of the music you listen to puts a label on who you are? Is "emo" really a type of person now? Emo used to stand for emotional, but now it's a type of style apparently. Now I'm not judging you if you consider your self "emo" I'm just saying why is it such a popular thing now? 2 years ago it wasn't, it just all of a sudden sprang up out of no where and said "hey I'm 'emo' and I'm gonna take over the world"
