I've been sitting at the house talking to Nicholas for about 15 minutes now.
"If you still want that divorce then, I'll have my lawyer file the papers tomorrow. The house is yours if you want and you can keep the cars." Nicholas said as he played with his fingers. "All I ask is that you allow me to see my daughter when I want." He said looking over at Amelia as she was playing on the floor.
"I don't want this stuff, I never wanted this stuff Nicholas." I said while trying to get him to look me in the eyes. "I'm sorry for what I put you and Amelia through." He croaked. "And I think it'd just be better if we went our separate ways." Nicholas said while looking me in the eyes, for the first time in a long time.
"You lied to me!" I said standing up tears starting to fall down my face. "You said no matter how hard things got you wouldn't give up." I said wiping my face. Yes, I'd threatened him with divorce but god I never meant it. "This relationship has done a number on our friendship and there's no way to bring it back." He said shaking his head.
"Nicholas, look I'm sorry. We can talk this out right?" I said trying to make him realize what he was saying. "You don't understand Nicholas, I don't know how to not be without you. I'm attached to you." I said wrapping my arms around my waist.
"Yes, I was angry for you cheating on me but it was also my fault. I didn't communicate with you and we didn't build that relationship and we should've." I pleaded.
"The movers are coming tomorrow." He said while holding his head down and grabbing his keys out of the bowl. "Just tell them what's mine and they'll get it out if your way." He leaned down and kissed Amelia and she blew a kiss at him, something she'd only just learned to do.
