A month later...

"Don't let go, Dad!" Lilac squealed, as her father held onto her waist.

He was teaching Lilac how to ride a bike without training wheels for the first time. She had gotten this bike for her sixth birthday, just a day before...

"I won't! I won't..."

But as Lilac slowly started to gain her balance and was able to ride by herself, Mark let go.

She laughed giddily. "I'm doing it! Look at me, Dad!"

"I see you, honey."

Then, Lilac's front tyre hit a rock, and she fell to the ground.

Her arm snapped with a sickening sound.

"When I had you

I treated you

Bad and wrong, my dear

But since-"

"AAGHHHH! WHAT THE-! OWWWWWWWW!"

Michael stopped singing, clutching his arm.

It had just... snapped.

"Boy, what is wrong with you? Don't make me hit you again." Joseph warned.

Jermaine caught a glimpse of his brother's arm, completely broken.

"MOTHER!" He yelled. "Mother, come quickly!"

He leant down to Michael. "How did you do that?"

Michael was in too much pain to answer.

Katherine came running into the room.

"Mother, Michael's broken his arm!"

"What? How?"

"I dunno! He was just singing, and then it... snapped!" Jermaine answered, while trying to comfort Michael.

Joseph was just standing there. He had seen something like this happen before.

In fact, it had happened to him.

"Joseph! We gotta get him to the hospital!" Tito yelled.

"Ok," Joseph said calmly. "Let's go."
