Your Memory

I sit here idly, waiting almost restlessly
Dark angels soaring above me
I wait till they swoop low and rescue me

Salvage me from the darkness of your memory
Save me from the tears of your departure
Heal my broken heart with their anguished touch

Their faltering voices fill the emtiness yours had left
Their pleading eyes replace your azure stare
Their hoarse tones put me to sleep dreaming of you

I hide my tears in the black feathers that cradle me
I strangle my screams with the silence of your absence
I clutch onto the angels wanting to get away.

Yet...
My arms will always cradle you in their warmth
My soul will always be intermixed with yours
My heart will always be the temple devoted to your love.
